Ok, this could be a flame fest because there is a guide written somewhere, please be gentle lol.
I have been contemplating switching into MM for a while now, I have plugged various builds into cheekys and there doesnt seem to be any big gain, yet virtually every similar geared hunter on my realm swears by MM.

I run a small 10 man raiding guild who is currently 5/7 in ICC10 and my dps after a night of raiding averages between 5 and 6k (6 only on good nights!)

I am the first to admit however that I am not the most skilled hunter and movement is NOT my friend.
Do you guys think it is worth switching? will it increase my dps?

Any advice would be much appreciated

If you're better at the rotation/playstyle, sure, it could be better for you. It sounds like you haven't really given it a try, though. If I were you, I'd just pay the 50 gold and switch over, it's not like you're going to have to re-gem for it so there's really no reason not to at least try it out and see if you prefer it and/or do a little bit better.

If you don't have an enhancement shammy or blood Dk for the 10% AP buff, trueshot aura is an amazing raid buff to bring to your raids.

10 agi/15 stam gem is bad, get a Nightmare Tear a.s.a.p.
20 crit gems are bad, use 10 agi/10 crit for yellow sockets that get you a bonus of 4 agility or better.

If one 10agi/10crit doesn't get you 4 agility or more, the socketbonus isn't worth it (2x 10agi/10crit for 8 agi etc)

Yes, random criticism on your character.
Also, for 10 mans MM is underwhelming, stay SV or go SV/MM so you can go MM on stand and pewpew fights where you are guaranteed to have Faerie Fire and Sunders on your target all the time. (For Deathwhisper, Gunship and Festergut SV is always better. edit: in 10 mans I'd stay SV for saurfang too.)

This should teach you a lesson.
Don't ever move a single step if you don't need to.
And if you need to move, move as little as possible, make sure you have instants for when you're running and use disengage if you need to go far (think Festergut Putrecide of course... you barely move on festergut >.>)

Edit: TSA now overwrites the shaman and DK buffs, so the TSA glyph works too although only for one hunter max.

I've noticed, myself, while MM seems to be the higher DPS on paper I don't seem to play it very well. When MM got good from Arp I made the switch and my guild leader always complained and asked why my dps was so slow, I couldn't explain it. I switched to SV and my dps drastically increased and I was competing for the top spot.

Still when I switch to MM my dps always seems to be inferior to my SV. Could be because I'm partially arp/agi for MM so I don't have 100% arp for GT, and GT could probably hindering my dps a bit on SV but I don't have anything good to replace it with until I get deaths choice or deathbringers will.

Ooh, that's good to know if I start playing my hunters again, thanks! :)

I am dual spec'd MM and SV

People swear by MM build but I have tried alot of them, however I get much better returns out of survival. I spent all night on femaledwarf finding ways to get every piece of dps I could out of my hunter. Finally did 4k alone in my MM spec and 4.2k in my SV spec.

Maybe for the one or two ideal fights MM is the be-all-end-all, but you have to decide what fights your play style.
