Shadow: The Black Angel's Death Song, by the Velvet Underground. Because it's discordant and makes me vaguely uneasy. The lyrics are pure poetry. I heard this album while really drunk/high in university and thought i was losing my mind.

That's mainly the guys' thing, but it's rubbed off a bit - I'll admit to enjoying the occasional not-quite-fair fight while humming a bar or two.
