Hunters and Haste?Follow

#1 Jan 06 2010 at 7:17 AM Rating: Default
I just hit Northrend recently with my hunter, and it seems that most of the new pieces of gear Im getting have haste. So Im wondering how much haste is good, and whats too much? I know that right now I shouldnt be overly concerned as Im only lvl 71. But Im approaching end game quickly, and want to be prepared when gearing for raids.

In case spec has any affect on the answer, Im currently BM with a possibility of switching to SV when I hit 80. I say possibly SV because I know its the highest dps raid spec right now, I just dont care for it much up to this point.

Thanks in advance for your info.

Haste is a pretty meh stat, even more so for BM than the other two specs.

Hey Aeth (or anyone else), I have a question!

What percentage of DpS does Auto-shot provide in a normal fight for the three specs. As I understand it, BM is still undergoing heavy testing (at least that's what I've gleemed from recent TKA posts), but do you know what it is for MM and Surv?

It's about 25-30% for MM I think.
SV is slightly lower, BM I don't care about because the dps is ****.

Why would mm give a higher % of auto shot than sv.
If you use the same gear/gem/enchants and you dont move,
there should be no difference between both specs.

Or am i missing something ?

I believe MM talents naturally buff your auto shot damage more via straight AP boosts and the armor ignoring effects; combine this with (comparatively) weaker special hits and it makes up a bigger portion of your damage. You're getting out roughly the same number of auto shots either way, they just have different amounts of buffing effects.
