Yes you, mage, I'm talking to you.

If someone asks politely for a portal and you don't want to, a simple "No" will suffice.

When I play alts and I need a portal, I am always respectful and generally offer more than the going rate for a portal. The one thing that gets me just furious is when you get ignored completely. Look dude, I know you aren't AFK, I see you jumping around on top of the mailbox. Just reply please.

If someone asks me in a polite manner, I always give a portal, if they ask in a less than polite manner but offer gold, I will do it. If they are complete idiots or rude, I tell them so and refuse to do it.

A 3 second reply works wonders guys, stop being a bunch of pricks, I'm nice about constant portal spam, it's part of the class, you can be too. Smiley: grin

The way I normally work is if I see a person asking for a portal (in trade, etc) and offering a price I generally hop right on it (usually an easy 2-5+g) if they are not offering a price I whisper them and say 3g. If they are rude in response I /ignore them. If someone whispers me out of the blue when I'm not doing anything I will respond most of the time as long as it was remotely polite or offering a price that isn't stupid. If they are dumb/rude they immediately go onto /ignore then to spite them I open a portal just for myself infront of them and take it.

I'm the same way. Lately, however, most players on my realm don't mention a tip or any kind of price. If I do respond, it's usually "can do port, 5g". They can take it or leave it.

If someone asks politely in a readable way, they get a portal. If they use butchered IMSpeak, they get no response.

As a mage I get so many requests for portals I always automaticly reply: 10 Gold

Most ppl pay up, but if they start moaning I don't respond anymore, got more things to do you know ^^

I use Team Speak to play with friends and as a result almost entirely ignore my chatbox. I'm trying to get better about it, but honestly I think its going to be hard to shake this habit. I have no problem offering teleports if someone asks and they are willing to come to me (thats important) but the odds that I actually see their request are not good.

There are times I'm busy doing something else, but I always open a portal... it takes 15 seconds total and I *hate* not having portals on alts, so I feel guilty not opening one when asked. I don't ask for a tip (but take it if it's offered), don't even reply most times. Just invite and cast. It's not particularly polite, but it gets the job done.
