Which Piece of Gear to Upgrade?Follow

#1 Jan 02 2010 at 9:05 PM Rating: Decent
Hello, I just got Game time for my priest since before 3.3 I was just wondering, I already have one piece of t9 from badges, in what order upgrades on my gear will give me the MOST SP + Crit in my gear? I am just really bad at deciding what to upgrade first and have these spasms (well not really but yeh)

I was thinking Gloves first, since they're just t7, but I also have other t7 pieces too. Heres my armory and btw the priest is Holy 14/57/0:

The reason I don't have a shoulder inscription is because I'm not exalted with SoH :(

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like you have the shoulders and gloves at this time. You have the 2-pc bonus now, which is great; the 4-pc bonus may not be worth pursuing if you are working towards moving up to T10.

Normally, head, chest and legs offer the more substantial upgrades. The T9 legs have haste, so if you are interested in boosting crit and SP, I would aim toward the helm first. The helms that drop from Ony are something to consider going after. They offer you a good alternative if you can manage to get the drop.

With the chest, you may want to consider the crafted 245's, the Royal Moonshroud Robe is a great upgrade if you can manage the mats for it. (I use the Merlin's Robe, myself, but I normally am Disc and have less need for regen in general and Spirit in particular.)

I, personally would trade one of your trinkets for the Talisman of Resurgence. Int has a better return for your regen than Spirit, and you can macro the on-use portion of it to a spell that you use during "oh-crap!" moments like Guardian Spirit, Divine Hymn or PoH.

Although Holy does utilize Spirit for both regen and SP, I still subscribe to the theory of gemming Int for efficiency and SP for throughput. Of course there are exceptions when the bonus makes sense to gem a purple or green, but a pure spirit gem is a wasted opportunity to fine tune your gear as I see it.
