Don't be that priest

I giggled as I read this at work today. Are you one of "those" priests? I am guilt of 6 out of the 20... Well at least in more casual runs/raids... Most of Matt's gripes are no brainers, some are amusing.

I move up near melee in 5mans and holy nova the crap out of them, then use hymn of hope for myself.

Yeah, I levitate the people while waiting to pull, so what??? I'm bored! And those people jumping all over the place irk me sometimes... Popping levitate on them and then seeing them stop dead in their tracks dumbfounded makes me laugh.

And I am sorry, but I do not have the hunter's pets on my frames, isn't it enough that my PoM always seems gets stuck on them? (and the DK ghouls...) Maybe I'll make an extra frame... But they seem to do well enough without me.

Happy New Year Priests :) (ok, and everyone else)

Two for me. I rarely DPS and I sometimes forget about Fear Ward until I find myself or others running around with the little blue badge of ha ha over their heads.

Funny find, thanks for the link! Love Matticus.

While I'm guilty of two of them (including the quoted one), yes, slowly floating down there IS mildly annoying ... but it's no worse that someone (looking at the Shamans and Death Knights here) who trigger Water Walking on the raid or Path of Frost. At least Levitate won't kill you when you hit the bottom. Smiley: mad

Oh, and the others? If I was a Disc Priest, I might pull 'em off, too. Smiley: grin Good thing for me, my priest has only been Holy/Shadow. Now, my BROTHER on the other hand ... Smiley: grin

Found the trick to defeating that sadistic DK that puts up Path of Frost on the fall to Anub...

If you are looking down and hold both mouse buttons down, you will not go splat when you hit the water.

Of course I chain Levitate him before the fall. =)

Depending on how you take it, I'm guilty of either all of them or none at all. I'll blow Hymn of Hope when the raid's mana is full if I myself am OOM. I'll Power Infuse a ret pally if we don't have any ranged in the group (heroics ftw). I Holy Nova spam on trash if I'm sure they're not cleaving adds. Some of the tips are either really good or horrible, depending on the situation. Some however, are just plain bad. Why in god's name would you use Prayer of Fortitude to rebuff one battle-rezzed person? Bye bye 2K mana?

I MAY have done this once.

But, since the Shaman was the only one in the party to die (and I didn't see when it happened), it is unclear if he had hit water walking after the first lake drop (at the end of UP) or if I killed him. :P

...Who blows Hymn of Hope when everyone's mana is topped (or is too far away).
Nope, though I don't save it for the very moment that everyone needs it, I just use it when I get low and see others get somewhat low too.

Except the time when I accidentally used it at the start of a pull, that kinda sucked.

...Who is way off on Pain Suppression or Guardian Spirit cooldowns.
Coordinating cooldowns....? My priest does not raid enough challenging 25 man content to need that.

...Who never dispels on a fight like Hodir.
MASS DISPELL SPAM!

...Who Power Infuses melee.
I use it on myself in 5 mans to try and get somewhere on damage/dps if I can be bothered :3

...Who Pain Suppresses a tank with an extremely minor threat lead.
Tanks with an extremely minor threat lead suck and need to gtfo, if that's honestly an issue when you need to use PS you've got bigger issues.

...Who drops the Psychic Scream fear bomb on trash when there is no need to do so.
I like the graphics Smiley: nod

...Who comes into the raid completely devoid of candles in their bags to buff.
I'm a hunter, and I have been for three years... I does not understand what you means with dis reagents thing.

...Who just stands there. Do something! Heal! Dispel! Look productive! Don't stand there and look AFK! Run around and keep players alive!
...... seriously? There's nothing to do for me half the time so why would I pretend to do something?
Although I do /dance or /flirt with random people.

...Who forgets to Fade when new mobs crop up. Whoops! I pulled threat once on an incoming mob.
I can survive, or something... and if I can't I'll blame the tank.

...Who forgets to activate Inner Fire. It's an extra spell power buff. Have it keybound to something handy and convenient.
Spell Power = E-peen, one should never forget his E-peen/her E-******.

...Who loves to jump into melee range of trash mobs and Holy Nova spam.

You shouldn't have stopped jumping once in melee, jumping, turning and spamming Holy Nova shows mobs how pro you are and makes them afraid of you. (Or did I accidentally hit Psychic Scream again?)

...Who like to chain Levitate people especially when triggering Anub'arak.

Levitate is pretty, accept it or gtfo.

...Who don't remember to buff Fortitude after someone gets back up during mid combat.
When players are dead, their buffs are wiped. When they get resurrected mid combat, they're going to be weak. It causes me to lose precious time when I try to look for them on my frames. I just slam Prayer of Fortitude and rebuff everyone in the raid to guarantee they've been hit.
L2P, seriously... if you can't even figure out who just got Battleressed and needs a new buff so instead you waste a pile of mana you suck.

...Who forgets they have anti-disease spells.
LOLOLDKURDISEASESAREGONE!

...Who continues to heal after a wipe has been called. You're slowing the raid down! Your leader just called for everyone to die! Stop healing and wasting time! Run to the nearest fire and die!
Everyone knows that in case of a wipe you need to smite spam to boost yourself on the dps meters. Scrub.

...Who doesn't realize they have mana potions and flasks for tough encounters.

There's fights long enough to need a mana potion?

...Who never heals hunter pets.
Want to really stand out from the rest? Have some pet frames shown. Watch as hunters lovingly gaze at you as Spot The Wolf manages to live.
If poor old Spot dies it's the hunter's fault, don't waste your time healing pets when there's people to heal.

...Who doesn't DPS during burn phases.
Spam Smite, always spam smite!

...Who DPS's when they shouldn't. Know when is not a good time to DPS. Stop tossing Holy Fires when the raid is taking massive AoE damage.
There is never a bad time to dps, the druids will heal.

...Who fails to use Fear Ward when it is known there are mobs that fear.
Always Fear Ward yourself and laugh at everybody while they're feared.

...Who rolls on hit gear with no intent on ever DPSing.
I think I can get hitcapped by now, I won't ever go shadow unless I'm forced to.
But it's not like anybody really needs gear.

...Who rolls on PvP gear without future plans of setting foot into battlegrounds or arena.
If you are a disc priest and you're not PvPing urdoinitrong.

Edit: forgot to add that I liked answering these questions of sorts.
I came to the (obviously correct) answer that I am better than that Matt guy.

Spell Power = E-peen, one should never forget his E-peen/her E-******.

Can we maybe go with "E-Cup Size"? E-Vag makes me cringe...

Coming from a hunter, I will skip the pet frames, Spot will have to be content with random holy nova sparkles and a PoM hop.

Your dps should be hit capped, so unless the item is a great upgrade... most dps wont care too much. It will be something they keep in their banks "just in case" they need it. Maybe I need it in my bank "just in case" too!

Just the one for me. I don't tend to have pet frames showing (owing to the fact that my UI is set up for shadow primarily) hence I don't tend to heal them on purpose when the occasion arises that I need to heal. Still, could be worse I suppose.

2 for me, I really don't care if your not a tank to rebuff you if you die by standing in fire, I also go afk when we are waiting, maybe 3 in a raid because it's a waste of mana to heal a pet.

This is the time to equip my dagger and go melee on the boss for skill ups. How else am I going to get that Knuckle Sandwich achievement?

When the rl calls wipe, I call Banzai!!

My banks are filled with "just in case" gear.
I went back a while ago and cleaned it out on my hunter, I think I vendored about 150-200g in purples. Smiley: grin

1. Hymn of Hope is primarily for me and maybe the other healers. If I'm getting low on mana, that's enough reason to use it often and use it early.

2. As a healer, if everyone is too far away, I've got bigger problems.

I will continue to be that priest who didn't run out of mana.

I have this horrible habit of DEing my old purples as soon as I get an upgrade. I've built a shadow and pvp set three times in Wrath, I hate to have the purples sit there when I need to enchant something...

Now, random outfits from holiday events, cool looking quest rewards, twigs that turn people into bunnies!? Those are the real "you never know..." items you want to keep!
