is this a good set for frost mages? how long will this carry you into northrend?
Sorry to say, but I wouldn't bother crafting it at all. One, its a waste of time (considering its only TBC). Two, waste of gold it costs a fair deal at that level.
It will last you quite long I assume (having not passed 74 myself) I currently am leveling a mage with the spell fire set I made ages ago and its still better than most quest rewards.
But in the long run, getting mats (which are pretty expensive now) and the time to farm the gold is not worth it at all. Just continue questing with questing/dungeon gear till you hit 80 and you'll be just fine.

It isn't worth the material costs. It was a good entry raid set but unless you already have it made or something just plan on replacing with leveling gear. That and if you already have an 80 heirloom gear could be used.
