Mages and old raidsFollow

Have any mages tried to solo old content, like maybe Karazhan, Molten Core trash (or bosses?), or anything else? I'm mainly interested in completing my list of enchanting recipes, but soloing could be fun too (if it's even possible). If anyone has tried any old raids or even heroics, let me know how it went...what spec you used, challenges, etc..


For example in MC, I was thinking of using a large amount of fire resist and dual specing arcane (raw damage) and frost (more survivability). But I've never stepped in there at 80, so I have no idea what to expect.

good luck with the gaints, I remember when it took like 40 people to do the raid heheh.

they have alot of hp 129,480 - 140,000 and there's usually a few of them at a time and im pretty sure you cant pull one at a time. the biggest problem is that they tend to toss people into the lava which might end up doing more damage then they do to you.

honestly I dont think your going to get very far, alot of the old contents mechanics are based around having alot of people to soak up debuffs or to get buffs or you need a couple of classes spells for trick fights. If your dead set on it take a few friends with you.
