Does anyone have an older version of the spreadsheet that has my gear in it? I cannot seem to locate one. I was reading EJ and it says I need to get expertise capped and hit capped then gem for AP and Haste. I want to make sure with my gear and a rupture-less rotation that this is correct. At the moment it has my skill up weapons but my main ones are: main: Blood Weeper (Berserking]), oh: Unsharpened Ice Razor(accuracy), ranged: Papa's Brand New Knife. I am doing between 2.5-3.5k dps depending on the fight.

*edit on second thought it probably doesn't have the correct EP values for the poison changes in 3.3 patch, so an older one won't work.

You can put your gear into the spreadsheet, just unhide the gear sheet and replace one piece of gear with another one. Its not too hard.

Alternatively you could just guestimate on which is better using your know how of rogue mechanics.

EDIT: Also, I can't fathom a reason why you would have a 1.9 speed tank axe in your MH...

lol yeah I figured someone would notice that. No longer a need got both to 400! Now to work on the mace skill.

I was going to ask on the EJ forums about this but figured I would get the ban stick

GodofMoo, I go to the spreadsheet, window, and try to unhide but the option is not available. Am i doing it incorrectly? I must be if I cannot unhide the gear worksheet.

Right click one of the visible tabs on the bottom to unhide it.

I had to go into the code and select it to be visable, never gave option to unhide. It is working now though, thank you.

I did what you said Moo, inputted my gear into the sheet and as EJ said it wants me to socket AP change my enchant from Precision to Crusher. If I do that I will go from DPS 7756.8 and a White miss of 11.79% to 7924 with White miss of 13.77%

Guess the extra AP makes up for the loss in % on White hit cap. What is weird this didn't change after making the requested changes to the sheet with optimal gems, etc...

MH Base Crit Rate: 42.15%
White Crit Cap: 54.28%

The one thing I don't understand is I am hit capped (poisons right now) right now. I am going to lose an insane amount of hit but on the spreadsheet it says my poison hit rate is still 0.00%. Does this sound right or did I make a mistake and break something in the spreadsheet? I am no expert using this so figured I would ask the people who know. :D

* added hit question

Make sure that on the buffs page you only have the buffs that your raid group brings. By default it assumes you have EVERY SINGLE possible raid buff and debuff on the boss, I.E the perfect raid comp...which no one(except crazy hardcore guilds do). And since you're using lower level gear <.< I assume you aren't in one of them.

Now, its possible that with your buffs/raid debuffs that will still be over the poison hit cap even if you lose a ******* of hit. If thats the case than I would listen to it.

Wow is all I can say. I turned off all buffs so that way I know what I will do by myself with maybe some AP+ food and...

Estimated DPS: 4127.9
Poison Miss Rate 2.97%
White Miss Rate 14.77%

But yet again for optimal buffs, enchants, and gems - no +hit recommended. I play with the recommended settings (so all gems except for the insane ones will be recommended) and still no hit. If I make one modification: 1 bright cardinal to Pristine Ametrine (20ap/10hit) I jump to 4130, but still at 2.58% miss rate with poisons. It seems like the spreadsheet logic is not perfect (which is to be expected).

#1.) So should I gem/enchant/engineer towards a raid, or look more towards my own stats since I usually just do random LFG 5-mans? I think I should gear more towards "0" buffs to maximize when I do get buffs, but this could hinder in the long run if I do focus on the hit.

#2.) Instead of gem/enchant/engineering gear towards "0" buffs I follow spreadsheet advice and instead of using food that gives +AP I focus on +hit with food and a flask or two for haste, etc...

Any advice the community can give is much appreciated.

5-man DPS doesn't matter. Spam FoK and you win.

The spreadsheets logic is good(maybe not the older ones, not sure) its just reliant on user input. Put Crap in, Get Crap out.

If you want a middle ground, base it on 10 man buffs, or pick the buffs that are 95% chance of having(like Draenei hit buff). But generally, no one cares about DPS except when raiding, so I would gem/enchant for raids. Also, realize that raid bosses require more hit than 5 man trash/5 man bosses, so in a raid you will miss more than you do in a 5 man anyways.

That's what I would do, but, my rogue is in a 25 man guild that does IC25 in one night, and my 10 man group almost has tribute to immortality. So we're in slightly different situations.

Just a tad, I use to be a heavy raider but went back to college so now I am just a fill in pug dps, if I am lucky.
