Had a Destro lock in my party today that was pulling 3K DpS, but didn't have a pet out the whole run. Seemed odd to me.

Is their DpS not worth it?

(I kinda wanted the imp buff, lol. It makes my health go over 45K. :P I never asked her to summon though).

Warlocks should always have there pets out. It's like a big part of a destro locks dps.

Yes that warlock was either stupid and/or lazy. Even in destro your pet does some decent dps, and as destro you should be specced into Empowered Imp, which as you can see helps to further boost your dps.

Not to mention that the stamina buff, especially in a 5-man, aids the party.

Wow... I'm kinda sad that I didn't say anything then. If a pet is 15% of total DpS, and she was doing 3.1-3.3K, then she could have been doing 4K+ DpS...

I get there's the "I've done this instance 4000 times" feeling, but if it is just summoning a pet and putting it on defensive...

she should always have a pet out... tisnt even a "lets summon this" pets are always there for locks.. same as with hunters... if it's not a pet friendly encounter/instance then you can have your imp out on passive, at least you get the health buff that way ^^

The imp does 15-20% of your total damage? But how? Other than the crit-on-crit effect, is the little fireball thingy really all that?

I concur that Warlocks should have pets out, though. Like with buffs, they might not be necessary in some of the heroics, but unlike buffs it doesn't go away after 60 minutes when cast, so why not use it?

yeah the pet really is "all that". 15-20% of total damage as a destro or affliction lock is from your pet, or at least it was 4 months ago when i still played (living in japan really doesnt give the option to properly raid... or play...)
