3.3 enhancement DPS specFollow

#1 Dec 16 2009 at 5:14 AM Rating: Default
Was wondering what the new cookie cutter spec is now for DPS.

Also need to know the glyphs and rotation. The new fire nova has thrown me WAY off.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the stuff on EJ right now is either very old or very speculative.

The short answer? Nothing has changed.

To keep it short:

For specs: www.wowwiki.com/Shaman_builds

For Rotation: Download the addon 'shockandawe'

For Glyphs: www.wowwiki.com/Shaman_glyphs

I've taken the old cookie cutter spec and modified it a bit. I made sure to have 2 points in improved Stormstrike, because with Fire Nova in the mix I was ooming every pull (ok, it isn't Fire Nova's fault, I ALWAYS oomed every pull before).

With the focus on gemming for haste over AP, it's very easy for enhancement shaman to go OOM in 5-mans. Imp. SS helps and so does the T10 2pc bonus (gives you even more incentive to use SR whenever it's off cooldown). Now that the T9 4pc bonus is fading out of existence, it's making it a lot easier to just stick with the cookie cutter build, skip the talent that reduces the CD on shocks and focus on making sure you never sit at 5 stacks of MW any longer than is absolutely necessary before you cast LB/CL. I was almost disappointed with how little enhancement changed with 3.3, but we're still able to make a very solid contribution to any group. Running the heroic daily every day since 3.3, I've been outdamaged by other players (overall on bosses) precisely twice. I don't think I'll be breaking 10k dps on a regular basis outside of gimmick fights even when I'm mostly 264/277 geared, but we can definitely hold our own in any aspect of level 80 PvE.
