I am a MM build Hunter with A wolf for a pet.

My rotation (or rather priority) is the standard - Open with serpent sting, then kill shot > chimera shot > aimed shot > arcane shot > steady shot. On boss I hit rapid fire then readiness after first steady shot.
My only issue with stats (gear) at the moment is my ranged weapon. I have the True Aim Long Rifle from H ToC lvl 219. I understand I need a lvl 226 weapon asap.
The Problem:
My DPS on heroics according to recount (mine) is 2.3k to 2.6k, I have pets merged with owner on recount and not clicked to show pets. I think I should be pulling a lot more dps than that and am not sure if its my recount set up or if I am doing something (rotation) wrong or if its really the ranged weapon issue (lower lvl than should be).
I ran my toon thru Zeherah's Hunter DPS Analyzer and it says I should be pulling about 4k.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Biggest thing I see is your meta gem is not activated. I'd recommend a nightmare tear (+10 stats) in a blue slot, it's prismatic and will count as a blue or yellow.
Why would my meta gem not be activated, it requires 2 red gems or 1 yellow gem. I have 10 red gems on my gear. Or does that mean it requires 2 red gems and 1 yellow gem?
Most dps analyzers assume raid buffs, so if you're seeing 4k there and getting 2k in heroics you're doing pretty well I think.
Heroics simply don't provide enough uptime on a single target to get a very good measure. Most heroic bosses last 60-90 seconds, so anything you see will be highly subject to what cooldowns were or were not blown, as well as RNG factors. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
But, your meta *does* need to be replaced. You should be using a Relentless Earthsiege Diamond (or chaotic skyflare, but hunters are one of few who benefit from agility directly so it's probably better for them with the agi).
And the requirements on the meta must ALL be met. If it says 2 red, 1 yellow, then you must have that many of each of those colors represented on your armor.
