Do fire and frost talents stack for frostfirebolt or does the higher one win out?

Also, does the frost effect of frostfirebolt benefit from the talent frostbite? and does it also benefit from shatter in that case? If it does, does it add up with critical mass talent in the fire tree?

I want to make a fire spec and I was debating between shatter or torment the weak. but i wanted to make sure all the frost talents had any effect on the spells i would be spamming.

Most talents boost both. The only ones that don't, I believe, are the +crit (unless otherwise stated). Whichever is higher, frost or fire crit, wins out.

I think.

The only talents that I am aware of thy don't stack are the ranged talents (neither actually affect ffb I believe anyway).

If you are putting together a ffb build for raiding it has already been covered in a thread that is linked in the greatest Mage post ever at the top of the forum. For ffb you want frost and fire talents. If you are going to be using fireball (fb) then fire + arcane (ttw) is the way to go - also discussed in tgmpe.

Oh and to answer your questions about the slow, it benefits from permafrost, can proc frostbite, and works with shatter. Come to think of it both threat reducing talents may not stack, I can't remember but it has also been talked about ad nauseum at elitistjerks.com

Last I read FFB only works with one -10% threat talent, but the secondary effect of both talents is good enough to get them both anyway. (Lower mana cost and 70% pushback resist.)

But I'm a brand new 80 mage, so I haven't read everything yet.
