It all depends on what you plan on doing with your hunter...
PVE
The "hit" bonus from the space goat is nice when your freshly hit 80 and struggling to reach the "hit" cap. As you progress with gear however, it become less and less needed as high end gear is generally babbled with good amounts of hit rating here and there. If you plan of raiding as well, there is bound to be another space goat amount you and then it will go to waste. However relying on another to max your hit is not a very wise move imo.
I’m a bit of a crit fiend myself, always have been and the extra crit your get from a dwarf is rather nice. And generally of all of the high end ranged weapons, a gun is normally up there with either a bow or crossbow coming from past trends.
PVP
The gift of the naaru can be helpful in pvp but mainly in a one on one setup which is generally not common on a battleground, but still can save you in a pinch.
Stone form however is much more helpful for a hunter imo. If your masters call in on cool down and you have a rogue all up in your face (dam crippling poison) it can be a god send. It’s also really handy for getting those kitty and warrior bleeds off you too.
My choice purely from optimum gameplay direction would be a dwarf. But then you will have to look at your characters butt for a good amount of time. You may not enjoy staring at a little stumpy dwarf bum, or you just may, the choice is yours...
