Focus dump for pet on autocast?Follow

Greetings Hunters,

I have come to this forum with a question on my hunter (lvl 42 BeastMaster as of now) and I seem unable to find an answer/opinion in the sticky, nor on the first 3 pages of the thread index. So I figure I have a point in asking it:

I have a boar at this moment (because I like its looks) with at least Growl and Charge (talented) on autocast. Besides that there is the attack with cooldown (Gore it is called, right?) and the attack without a cooldown (the focus dump). Both these attacks I have put on autocast too, but I am unsure if I should put the focus dump on automatic too...

Any pointers?

Thanks in advance!

See that thread at the top that says 'HELP ME'? It's designed for incidental one-off questions, use it! Smiley: grin

Scotty basically covered it though. Do you have problems with aggro because your pet isn't able to Growl? If so, try turning off the focus dump. Most people find this isn't much of a problem anymore thanks to the focus refunding talents available though.

The other solution is to simply spec marks or survival and kill the thing before it even has a chance to reach you; in this case you'd turn the Growl cast off entirely and just let the focus dump play.

Pet specials and growl all cost less focus than the focus dump.
For as far as I know, pets prioritize the lowest focus costing ability.
So with growl at 15 focus, your average pet special at 20 and focusdumps at 25 there's no point in not having focus dumps on autocast for the extra damage.
If they end up delaying anything at all it won't be for long.

Thanks Aethien, that was exactly what I was looking for (and kind of guessed myself).
