Noob 80 PVP Set/Weapon?Follow

#1 Nov 25 2009 at 1:35 PM Rating: Decent
I have a two part question:

1) Just dinged 80. Starting BGs to get Deadly Gladiator Set and Furious off pieces(belt, wrist, cloak, ect). I also do Winterspring when I can. I dont think I'm geared well enough to get a decent rating at arena unless I leach off an elite arena player. Is this the best route gear-wise? In addition, beggining dmg for DK at 80 is frustrating. I have avg 100-150k dmg a bg. My lvl 71 mage could do more, even with resists. lol

2) I have been trying to find a better 2 hand axe than De-raged axe. I see many but only in raids, heroic, or arena (None of which im geared for) I only have 2 deadly pieces and the rest are pvp blues. Is there any I can buy with just honor or gold? I'm trying to stay away from arena til im better geared cuz i dont wanna be stuck with some crappy rating. I know some people can win pvp 1v1,2 naked but im not one of those people. haha

Spec:

3 17 51 Unholy PVP Spec
B F U

Oh and I just did the math, Im looking at 500,000 honor and i only have time to avg about 10k a day. By the time I'm done, my gear will be useless. I looked at the topped ranked dks for spec and gear advice. The top are full relentless including weapon with the most expensive enchants/gems with darkmoon cards (crazy gold).

The same thing happened on my mage I worked my way to mostly brutal and vengeful gear with a decent arena ranking and massive honor farming, WoLK came out I might as well have wore greens lol. So i rolled DK. They should have Relentless available from just doing bgs. All arena based pvp god gear is rough, since you need the highest gear and massive gold to buff it, to even have a chance to get a 2000+rating. Sorry about the soapbox. lol got mad thinking about this.

For one, what spec are you? Also, the best route to go might be farming TotC (the 5-man) and getting some decent PvE gear - you'll still die easily but it'll make your life a lot easier in BG's.

I've been trying to get into PvP.

Is there a good Frost DW PvP spec?
I am currently using my normal PvE DPS one, just different gear.

I thought, and then tried, to do Unholy in PvP but I've gotten use to the Frost Set up and now fail and Unholy DK t.t

What do PvPers look for in gear?
I've been grinding out Honor to get gear..is that the way to go?

The Titansteel Destroyer will beat out the Deraged axe, even if you are an Orc (and especially if you are a Human/Dwarf). You lose some crit, yeah, but all of your attacks will do more (your strikes should get at least 100 more on average). And you gain a *little* Stamina. The 5 expertise IS nice, but that's about it.

As for other axes, I don't know where to go for PvP-rewards. There's an okay axe in H HoL and in Naxx. But I don't know if you are willing to run PvE raids/dungeons for them.

Something I just recalled - you should buy a bunch of bars and get a pall to make you the Savage Saronite Battlegear. Of course you'll need better gear to do well in arenas, but the blue set is a good place to start with if you have only just reached 80.

Doesn't the Deadly Gladiator set require some Arena Points? If I am wrong, please forgive me. I am starting to look into what gear I need to aim for to participate better in BG. Not gonna do Arena I don't think but BGs are fun. I see that the Hateful Gladiator set can be purchased just with Honor Points, 212k for the total set according to WOWWiki.

Current gear I use in BG is in my sig (should be working)

Quick two pennies:

Try to not look at gear in terms of "this is what I need". Rather try to look at it in terms of "this is what I can afford."

PvP gear (and PvE in a similar way) is all about how much time you put in (and skill in arena of course). If you have 10 hours a day, you're going to have access to more gear than if you have 10 hours a week to invest. Just that simple. My advice is to play PvP if you enjoy it, upgrade the best gear you can afford as you go, and not worry too much about what the 2200 arena players are doing (well, until you're fighting them that is!).
