So, I've been picking up some tanking gear and stuff along the road and I noticed today that some of my stats are totally messed up, especially my hit rating.
I roll with two different sets, one with more avoidance and one with more health. Removing some avoidance proved to be excellent when doing heroics because otherwise I'll dodge too much and lose rage. Anyway, some stats (unfluffed and in bear form):
Raid gear
37,222 health
26,980 armor
38.75% dodge
40 expertise
350 hit rating (!)
Heroic gear
39,752 health
36.98% dodge
Rest of the stats are the same.
Notice something out of place here? Like, hit rating? 350? Really?
I haven't been actively searching for hit rating, it's just something that seems to be on every single tank item right now. Also, my health seems to be quite good for our current content (ToC10 Norm), so I've been working towards getting more dodge rating. I've been thinking about ditching the necklace for the DPS one. It would buff my armor, my crit rating and my dodge rating and the cost of some attack power and health (and defense).
With the DPS necklace (the agi/stam one), I get the following in my raid gear:
36,842 health
27,116 armor
38.85% dodge
308 hit rating
Expertise is the same and I get a slight increase in crit rating (0.82%) which is more rage, more TPS and more Savage Defense procs.
I'm really at a loss here. What should I be focusing on more? Getting my dodge up there or my health sorted?
I've successfully off-tanked ToC10 normal and Ony25 with the current raid gear. And I blow through heroics in my heroic gear.
