So, I figured, why not!
I started a hunter. My main has been a paladin since vanilla, and I've never really gotten any of my other characters higher than 72. (Soloing a warrior got boring, so I just maxed enchanting and haven't really looked at leveling with her again, but I digress...)
So, I browsed around and picked up a boar, since I group with my rogue husband 99% of the time, I figured keeping the mob entertained with a boar would help. (Annnd it was the closest one at the time with decent HP and we were eager to keep going...)
Nope.
My pet tends to run as far as he can, aggro anything and everything in sight, and die before he even turns around to attack the mob I sent him after. I've got him set on passive, manually send him in to battle, and I tend to open with concussive shot about half the time just to pull the mob a little bit closer to me before my pet aggros everything else.
Is it the fact that it's a boar - Should I focus on getting something else? I'm level 23 at the moment, and I'd be higher if I didn't have to deal with my pet aggroing entire camps and dying constantly.
Is it the fact that he's low level so he's... stupider? Or am I doing something wrong?
Or does the game's AI just hate me and want me to die several times so I don't feel like I'm doing it right?
Yes, I've played a higher level hunter - I leveled my brother in laws for him for about a month, my account was down and he was getting called into work every day. He needed the hunter for his "uber progression guild, we do $#!& you cant even dream about bud!" and I needed to get away from reality. I went from about 30ish to 80, so I know my way around the class, and I'm comfortable enough to play the way the class should be, and not feel like a complete noob.
This however, stumps me.
