Shadowform and den?Follow

I just dinged 40 on my priest. woot. Of course I spent my talent point on shadowform (looking like purple smoke ftw) but now I'm at a crossroads. A part of me thinks that I should keep dumping points into shadow spec for increased damage. But, another part thinks I should start putting points into disc so I can get the 2 points in meditation. I've done a wee bit of research and haven't really found anyone who has done this.

My question is.. is this worth it? I don't run out of mana that often.. but I think the 50% mana regen while casting would turn me into a.......non stopping priest killing thing. (sorry.. its the end of my work day and i'm spent)

YAY or NAY do you say?

Ignore it until you fill out Shadow. Dispersion is absolutely awesome for solo AND grouping.

I would say stay shadow. Pretty soon you'll get Vampiric Touch, which will greatly help out with mana regen.

Fill Down to dispersion then go for meditation. The improved inner fire will help in Northrend because after level 71 inner fire starts adding spellpower was well as armor.

VT (in end game) is your best Damage spell. For leveling, it's your most efficient damage DoT. Dispersion lowers downtime between fights even further and is a good thing to use when you get in trouble.

Stick to the shadows son, nothing can hurt you there!

Honestly, straight down the shadow tree is cool...I did it all the way to 80 and enjoyed every moment of it. I have a level 32 priest (holy) who is taking her time to get through content, I just find it difficult (maybe it's my mentality though, looking for the Spriest's damage buttons!)

Anyways, keep with the faith and enjoy the benefits!

I hope of 2 thisngs from this post, 1: that someone who's done this already see's and knows' exactly what I'm saying, and 2. that someone who hasn't seen this done get's what I'm imediatly saying.

I've had a Shadow Priest for going on 2 years now and only just recently realized that by taking the Shadow all the way through the tree selectivly (maybe even with respecing) and collecting the valueable points and then ditributing the remaining 15 points into Disp.'s Unbreakable will --- icreaces Dmg & Healz of instant spells by 5%
Improved Inner Fire- Improver Power word Fortitude so on like this just filling them up till I get to the Good one's at the end,,
Inner Focus---- see on plans
Improved Power Word Shield! and that's the good one really,,,, Inner fire works great, and along side this Improved Inner Fire!
You can see where I'm going with this but after you've spent 15 in Disp. just after getting SHADOW FORM (which I love btw) you'll still have 5 pts. left in the end to finish up you Shadow tree!
It worked great for me and it's the Most fun I've had in any MMO rpg based game Ever!

P.S. always remember too:
Considering priests in a group normally fall into a support role as healer, The three talent areas of the class are Discipline, Holy, and Shadow. Of particular note is that priests that devote themselves to the shadow tree are very frequently regarded as a separate class altogether. The damage capabilities of a shadow priest are exceptionally high compared to the other two trees, and they possess a modest amount of UTILITY VALUE as well. With the rise of hybrid healers, shadow priests have become a very accepted part of WoW culture, and are very prone to melting faces! :)

To answer about that 50% mana regen,,, I'd wished I'd done it earlier!
