It's creepy in a sense... they're all being rogue-like.

Perhaps it is because if anyone tries something different or even suggests a different way of doing things they get down rated or its just me thinking that is happening ?

It's the suggestions without evidence to back it up that gets down-rated. Anecdotal evidence from a rogue using hemo with daggers isn't taken seriously, because most people can do the math behind that, and realize that said rogue is bad.

36 views and hardly any replies says to me people are afraid to say what they think here Theo that was what i was trying to say , look at any section and if you are lucky one new thread starts every few days and half of those should never have been started which to me says the board needs a shake up call or we have answered every question possible for every class which going by some of the very outdated stickies i doubt is happening.

That's an oversimplification. Those aren't the only possible answers to the question: "why are the boards so slow?"

A very real alternative is that so many people now know about Elitist Jerks that they don't even bother coming to Allakhazam; another is that they use the Wowhead forums. A further third option is that they're migrating back to the Oboards.

It's funny, because I notice a lot less activity when I'm not posting here (when I'm browsing and not posting, really).

It could also be because there's not much left to answer about the rogue class, since most of it is answered in-game or with a quick look at EJ (which is in the sticky).

Edit: by the way, just in case you're wondering who's rating you down; it's me. You're actually misleading new rogues by posting stupid information that has no data backing it up. If I can make your posts below the filter, then I'm going to do it. When you start posting more intelligently, then I'll stop rating you down.

Theo - we all know the only reason why the boards light up a bit when you post is because you've made an inflammatory, yet usually informative, post that illicits a QQ from a lot of people.

These forums are dead because all of the knowledge one can learn is on the main page. There is no need to post anything when we've given it all out.

Besides, MW2 is out, and most people would rather play that :P

Blizzard may have 11 million subscriptions, but it doesn't mean people are actively playing, and how many of those are chinese farmers?

Quite frankly, I think the stickies need a complete overhaul. While a lot of the info is uptodate, there's also quite a bit of info that's outdated (or not updated to include WotLK... i.e. the poison sticky isn't necessary).

Would I fix them? Sure, I would. Am I going to? Probably not, as I don't have the plethora of info in my mind to do so.... Plus, I'm lazy.

Rogues have been barely changed in the last few patches. Ummm, axes? FoK nerf....assassination pve buffs....nothing exciting or complicated. So i guess there isn't much to discuss really.

It's not Theo being a **** gobbler, its the fact the core playstyle and tactics for a Rogue haven't changed at all since TBC.

Rotations are easy to figure out, easy to master.

The only reason these forums float is new people and regulars just chatting.

And you are seeing a huge decrease in activity, considering 4-5 of the regulars I've known for 2-3 years on here now, all don't play anymore, or barely at all.

Yea...not much to discuss anymore that can't be solved with a spreadsheet.

On the spreadsheet note, I couldn't find a current mutilate spreadsheet at Elitist Jerks. Anyone know of a good one?

My part in this would be the fact that I more or less stopped playing my rogue - I find my DK to be more fun in PvP (mainly because I find myself doing 3 times as less button presses) and my priest in PvE. That said, these boards will live up quite a lot once Cata is released, I predict. I just wonder what will happen to these boards if Blizzard follows through on the "specs are used to define your playstyle, not your effectiveness" path they've went down, seeing as on these forums there's no room for anything unique or experimental.

On the flipside, there isn't much left to experiment with by now. Mut/prep works in PvE, combat works in PvE, HAT used to work. Assassination works in PvP, Shadowdance is less used but works in PvP as well, combat works in PvP by putting on PvE gear and using Killing Spree as an I-WIN button, and it's obvious that duo- or trispecs don't work for anything because the idea of "a cc tree" and "two damage trees" doesn't apply as much to rogues as it does to for instance mages.

I started the quest for poisons on my baby rogue.

Super pain in the ***.

So ya about that poison sticky?

So I missed the patch note where you can just fuc&ing buy them at level 20. I blame you.

The rogue boards really are dead; as a long time lurker, I'm amazed at how the participation has slowly dwindled.

What is there to discuss? To participate one needs something to actually...you know...participate in.

Fine... let's discuss the color blue.

I'm quite fond of the color blue myself. The sky is blue, sometimes the water is blue (or, at least looks like it due to the reflection from the sky). It's such a calming color for me.

Last I checked, rogue was the least played class on my server, horde side.
So, the surge of DK's and the emphasis on hybrids (lol 10 man raid with four shamans) is thinning our ranks.
Less interest in the class = less activity on the boards.

Maybe people are finally reading the sticky?

That or when people ask for help and we bombard them with questions like... Digitalcraft's recent "help me thread" response. They get so overwhelmed they are instantly turned into masters of all things Rogue related... or run away.

But sometimes said blood can turn blue... which brings me back to some blue carnations I got for Valentine's day once. They were dyed yellow and blue (two of my favorite colors). Quite lovely to see them. Too bad they're not dead as it has been about two years now.
