Upon hitting 80...Follow

What are your steps?

I've looked at every guide here, and all over Google and most things are from 08 so completely worthless. Some are from April, so only mostly useless.

What I am looking for:

Respec: Currently using a Blood leveling build. I've seen MANY specs(the one in this forum is "Diseaseless Blood" which translates to "DPS-less Blood"). I've read EJ enough to know the best RAID spec, but is that the same as for lolheroics?

What DPS gear is the goal once you ding 80? Is Titansteel worth it?(the boots, the head is too easily replaced by T8.5)
Aside Ebon Blade(head) and Hodir(shoulder), what reps are good to get up for fresh gear?

If all else fails, is Blood DK the mirror of a Ret Pally in terms of gear? If so I have my own topic(in sig) how to gear one. The difference is, ArPenn is worthless for Ret. Is it any good for Blood DK? If so that would alter my entire gearing.

I used the EJ "weight scale" on wowhead and it came back terribly. Only a handful of items, not all body pieces covered, and weapons were odd. It considered "BiS" to the chart as the 2h sword from Tourney. I doubt that beats Edge of Ruin personally but maybe I am wrong?

Any advice would be great. When I hit 80 I do not wish to fall into the typical DK mold.

My first step was to get into the EPIC VENDING MACHINE and I ran it until my eyes bled. (ToC for those that don't know what I am referring to.) After you get the gear from there, I also ran the heroic version. Using that gear you should be able to easily get into any Naxx, OS, VoA group as DPS and not suck. This will gain you badges/old gear that will push you along.

As for specs, I really enjoy blood. It is great single target DPS but also give you decent AoE so you can still pull big numbers on any heroic of your choosing. It also allows some self-preservation so that healers aren't WTF RU Doing Taking So Much Damage!?!

EDIT: I could be wrong but I think priority goes

Hit > STR > ArP > Crit

Thanks!

With ArPenn overriding Crit, should I actively aim for a certain amount of it? I know this means I will have to run Uld for Mjollnir's Runestone(spelling is likely off) for that uber trinket. Any other VITAL gear to aim for?

And you DO apply diseases. I'm not sure if you knew that from your post. Linky.

Yes, I put those numbers into wowhead and got VERY few items. As I mentioned, BiS was considered the sword from Champion's Seals.

As for Disease, yeah I love them. I meant the current sticky here(stickies that go without updates for 3+ months should be de-stickied imo, too much misinformation due to patches). It mentions Blood as Diseaseless only. In fact all the builds are out of date and information is no longer useful. It's GREAT when people make guides but without updates they become the cause of the bad players.

EJ has been great but finding an ideal *Ding, 80. Now what?" thread has been hard. They have one for tanking but no DPS yet.

Well, Theo wrote the guide and he doesn't play anymore, to the best of my knowledge.

But, it's pretty obvious that those are out of date. I mean, all the talent trees are missing at least 15 points due to changes.

The problem is that the DK changes a LOT with every patch, atm. It is just way too much work to manage a guide when you can just link to EJ or tankspot.

As to there being no "So you've hit 80" guide, the thing is that DpS gear is EXTREMELY easy to get and find, where tank gear is very limited. That's why you get the guides for the latter.

Just run instances. Upgrades will come pretty fast. If not from drops, then from emblems.
