Aff Warlocks a dying breed?Follow

I have been checking out in /who warlock 80 alot lately and i seem to find more healers than i do warlocks and out of the 25 warlocks i found last night only 1 was affliction 3 were demo and the rest were destruction so my question is where have all the affliction warlocks gone?

Or they re-rolled Destruction once they realized they could own in Battlegrounds, even at lower levels.

Or they re-rolled Destruction because they realized it no longer suffers the crappy mana efficiency of olde days.

Or they re-rolled Destruction because it's much more fun to triple-hit stuff your own level in sucky gear and watch it drop before it can even reach you.

... either that, or they re-rolled a Mage.

Fewer Destruction Warlocks in PvP? Why's that?

Every Warlock I've come across in PvP seems to be Dest spec'd. Immolate, Conflagrate and Chaos Bolt is a powerful combo against anyone without 1k resilience and 30k health.

If aff is boring to you ,don't take it then,you can level as demo spec with almost same speed,destruction also,if you like it go for it. I don't find aff boring and I love then fact that you can go thru mobs without any need to drink/eat.

Maz, destro got few hefty nerfs,well maybe not nerf in dmg kind of way but in burst kind of way ,ye. conf change is big for pvp.

I've been leveling demonology for my newest warlock (hit 45 last night). My last warlock (currently level 46 on a different server) was leveling entirely affliction.

Both that had their pluses. I feel a bit more in control as demonology; the voidwalker is a pretty darn good tank thus far, and if he dies I can simply summon another in .5 seconds. Thanks to Sacrifice no longer killing VW, I have a very powerful shield on a minute cooldown for next to no cost. My repair bills are much lower, since I'm not drain-tanking, and my killing speed seems comparable. Affliction was fun for AoEing stuff, but demonology can do it too; gather a bunch of mobs, dismount, pop demonic Empowerment, AoE taunt all the enemies, put Sacrifice on and Rain of Fire (or Hellfire) all of the enemies. It isn't pretty, but it is effective and can be done every couple of minutes.

I think the make-or-break point will be level 50, when I get my Felguard. I am SO looking forward to that. A pet that tanks almost as well as Voidwalker, but does like 3-4x the damage? YES PLEASE! I will miss my insta-shield, but I think he'll be worth it.

Affliction was fine, but I felt less safe and couldn't handle adds as well. I'm not sure if the leveling speed is much different between the two specs.

Affliction is they way to go for me.

I tried demo, but found I had to drink too often for my taste. And Destro... see me standing and casting stuff and you might as well ask me for water or a portal.

Affliction has zero downtime, even while doing full rotations in raids.They just go on and on and on.
It may not be the cookiecutter maxdamage build but hey: it works fine for me, always worked fine for me and I'm not gonna neglect it. Period.
