A fellow guildie told me to get these shoulders in WG for my new Shaman but they are mail. Can Shamans wear mail, I thought only cloth and leather.
Same person said to get the daggers in WG too so when Shaman hits 40 and gets dual wield. Why Daggers? Why not a mace or Axe duo?
Now both these items are the type that bind to account 1 to 80. There were some nice leather ones too.

Never mind, found answer. Well, good on mail armor at 40. Can make Dragonscale armor to use then.

If you have the emblems available, definitely skip the daggers and go for the 1-handed maces. While shamans can use daggers, what your friend might not be thinking of is that enhancement shamans get a lot more benefit from slow weapons than fast, and daggers are almost always very fast indeed.
Axes are also good so long as they're slow, but there are no 1h heirloom axes, so the mace is your best bet. (The melee one, that is--skip the caster mace.

Ahhh, don't worry. Think will do Maces or Axes when get to 40. Will have my Pally make something.

Also, just to add in case you didn't know, if you do go for the BoA mail armor, you can use it even before you can use mail. It'll shift down as leather when your below 40 toon wears it and then go back up to mail when you're able to use it.

I think the equipment confusion for me was because we made our Shammies at about the same time but we are two different types of players.
He got the shoulders and now I realize the daggers so he could use the 10% towards xp stat. He is running through quests and is leveling about 3-4 a day.
Me? I am trying to do find different quests for my Shammy. After bringing three toons to 80 already, if I did all the same ones again I would probably scream.
There is a mace in wg I think will check out and since my toon is only level 36 plenty of time to get it. Didnt see any axes in there. The daggers are there but think will stay with what I know. Am also going to check out Champion Hall too. Havent done many bgs on Shammy and might be fun.
I do have to say that for a player who is not good at any type of serious casting, a Shaman gives me a little feel for it and still can melee. Having fun playing one.
