I have the BoA mace and an off hand. When is good time to ditch the combo and get a regular weapon? At level 75 as of now, just curious as to when I should be looking to drop the BoA mace.

It looks ugly.

It's interesting that Allakhazam isn't showing me any stats for the Devout Aurastone Hammer. Here it is on Wowhead.

I wouldn't change it until 80. BOA items are meant to be of the same quality as a good blue item at each level. A level 75 mace wont scale as you go to 80, where your BOA mace will. My druid hit 80 this week, and I still have my BOA shoulders, since I haven't found a replacement yet.

Get rid of that mace now!! You're a priest for crying out loud, You can't be seen dragging around that monstosity. You need something svelte that matches your eyes. Nothing too gawdy, something that merely accentuates your ensemble, not defines it. Something like this.

And if you are wearing a lumberjack shirt under your robes, I am gonna wring your neck.

Seriously, what dadanox said... but it is ugly =(

This is my problem with the BOA shoulders. Seriously? RED? They sure make you pay for that extra 10%.

I do always tell healers on Twins to pick a color that matches their outfit the best.

Accessorizing is always a good thing.

Assecoires make the world turn.

And you should have bought the staff to start with.
A staff looks much better than a weapon and offhand.
(WTB STAFF, PLEASE! Smiley: frown)

I have the staff. It's nifty. I went with that as opposed to the mace because I also have a mage and a warlock to level. Also, having the 2h weapon means I don't have to worry about OH stuff.

As for the longevity of the weapon, all BoA gear will get you to 80 quite handily. You may find things that are better for the level you are currently (ie. you do a group quest 3-4 levels below the "ideal" and get a tasty blue from it) but it won't take long before the BoA stuff catches up as you continue to level.

Also, BoA gear has no durability. You can't break it. You don't have to repair it. BoA gear saves gold. Billions of gold. Srsly. Okay, maybe not billions, but at least you won't have to worry about standing around in Stormwind begging for 74s so that you can repair your broken gear before you can go back out to level some more.

But I like having a cow skull on my shoulders!

I actually got rid of my second priest's BoA shoulders (reg ToC drop) this weekend. She also replaced her lvl 74ish green rings with the two from the Headless Horseman!

She is my flower picking slave and never gets to go anywhere fun. :( She's very jealous of her older priest sister who gets to go everywhere and has all best purple shinies... Sorry it has been a long day at work, my sanity is failing me.

You don't need to start worrying until you can actually hear their voices fighting in your head.

I only got worried when my priest started trying to cast Mind Control on me.

Well, then you'll know how it feels to be abused and ran off of cliffs and into raidbosses and all those other horrible deaths you send your priest into.

I'm reminded, as this comment was made by the God Emperor of Hunters, of how when I first started playing WoW I tried a hunter as my third or fourth character. It wasn't quite a good fit for me. I wasn't willing to let my dog die, so I'd keep him out of the really dangerous situations.

You have no idea. The first time I tried a priest was when I wanted an undead character and I only liked them in robes.

I completely agree with that Teacake.
The bones that show on the knees are just ugly.
Those on the arms too, but they aren't as annoying.

And robes are usually pretty, especially priest tiergear... priests are so lucky :3

Or I just enjoy it when my characters look pretty/cool/awesome.

I've read that (and even linked it in general here) but still, some a lot of helms are uglier than even the ugliest face you can make.
