Spell penetration should be around ~120. Many classes get it up to around there, it will cut down most resists. Enough to counteract Priest/Druid/Paladin buffs.

Your Hit Rating is fine, as is Expertise.

But let's take a closer look here.

Sdren
Greenpeas
Gabobin
Gorxar

Looking through those, your Hit Rating is about an average of those 4. These 4 are the highest rated Enhancements in the world, according to Arena Junkies. Hit Rating is fine.

Spell Penetration - The lowest is Gabo with 55, and highest is Sdren with 135. 135 is the highest cap, if you don't want to take the chance of anything getting resisted, go for 135. Otherwise, go as low as you want in favor of other stats. I recommend personally at least 100. Nothing worse than losing because a Shock or something misses.

Next is Expertise. Greenpeas has none, which must be interesting. The others have 14, 14, and 9. I'd shoot for somewhere towards 10 if I was you, but I can't give you an exact answer. Do what you think is fine.

Your boots, don't gem for Critical strike rating. Gem it with Resilience or a hybrid. Speaking of, let's examine those other Shaman's gem's.... All Attack Power or hybrids, to fit Meta's most likely. Looks like AP/Stam, a few AP/Crit mixed in, even some AP/Hit. Gemming for Spell Penetration is pretty much a must. The cape enchant for Spell Penetration is a must. http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=44582

Also, compare your talents to their's, I noticed some differences.

Good luck bro.

One more question. Do you know of any good addons that will keep track of maelstrom weapon procs, similar to a rogues combo points? I've searched and used everyone of them from curse and none of them seem to work or do what they say they were suppose to.

Try Shock And Awe. It's made by an Elitist Jerk, and I do believe it's been kept updated.

Otherwise, there's an option in your Interface settings that will flash big words on your screen when it hit's 5. It's something that, in the description, tells you that when turned on it tells you when procs happen. Overpower, Hot Streak, MW5, etc.

Says it was updated 2 weeks ago. Try that.

Shock and Awe had way to much information for my taste, distracting me more than anything. I'm using "TellMeWhen" now to track Maelstrom and Shield charges, which is really everything I need to know.

PowerAuras works well enough. You have to make a different entry for each stack that you want alerted, though.

My ui will pop up a different text message for the first, third and fifth stack, so I can see it progressing by the different text messages popping and disappearing. i.e. Maelstrom starts, Maelstrom Building and Full Maelstrom.
