So with the acquisition of a few new pieces of gear, I need to figure something out.
Which would be a bigger benefit to overall DPS:
1. The two piece proc for 350 spell damage
2. The two piece 15% more spirit into crit from Molten Armor.
Not sure what tier they are, as I have returned pretty recently.
The question arises since I have Sunstriders shoulder and gloves, and Kirin Tor robe and gloves.
The stat difference between the gloves isn't enough to make a decision on alone.
The 15% more spirit into crit for me equates to 5.23% crit chance, so it basically comes down to +350 spellpower proc or 5% crit.
This will all be negated this week when I can get new pants and have both two piece bonuses, but it did get me to thinking.
I am doing the math to figure out which is higher, so I don't actually need anyone to do it for me, but I thought it would be a fun theorycrafting problem for some of you. Let's see what you all come up with.

Set Bonus Values heavily depend on your gear level and raid buffs, but the following should be decent estimates to see whether it's worth upgrading sets or use offset items. A 1% damage boost is comparable to about 40 spell power if you want to do a quick calculation. If you want anything slightly more precise - use Rawr.
Appears to be about equal. Although you didn't say if this was for your frostfire (did you upgrade to fireball) or arcane spec?
Although after that point you have to take into account the dps increase from the pieces of gear for the sets.
(you are looking at 2pc T8 and 2pc T9 btw)

I personally kept my T8 gloves JUST because if I run a good Uld group and get a 4th I think I'd go 4pc T8 over 2pc T8/2pc T9
However for 2pc vs 2pc I'd take T9 any day.
1: Procs are nice for SP.. but a solid +crit is nice.
2: The difference from T8 to T9 is pretty solid.
However for 2pc vs 2pc I'd take T9 any day.
