I just dinged lvl 80 a few days ago, and just have been getting my professions up to gather money for my enchants ill be needing as well as gear. i am duel specced ret and prot. I mainly use prot. I would like to start tanking Heroics dungeons but i know that a standard of 535 def and about 21k health (unbuffed) is really required to do so. My question is should I just see if i can get into a group as ret and just collect tank gear that way. I dont want to be carried through although that would most likely happen. Should I just run some reg 80 dungeons and gather gear this way? Which dungeons should I be focusing on and what gear should i be aiming for. Im just a bit confused on where i should go from here ...heres my armory

Hmm, looking at your armory...
Head: Shoot for a Tempered Titansteel Helm. This will serve you well, until you get t8.5 (58 Conquest Emblems).
Neck: Titanium Earthguard chain if you got the cash.
Body: Start working on Wyrmrest Accord, get Revered for a new Body.
Wrist: Tempered Saronite Bracers.
Boots: Tempered Titansteel Treads if you can afford them. If not, try checking Tempered Saronite, they might have more than the ones you have.
Ring: camp the AH, if you got money there are nice BoE rings on the AH usually. I'd seriously try for a Titanium Earthguard Ring. The other ring, Ingvar in Heroic drops a good one, Unsmashable Heavy Band.
Weapon: Do Argent Tournament dailies until you get Champion with 1 faction and 25 champion seals and buy the Sen'jin Protector. This will last you until you can get into H-ToC.
Libram: Sadly, this is one of the best librams you can have, save a venture co. libram, but that's meh too. Use Conquest Emblems to buy a better tanking libram when you can do heroics.
Trinkets: HURRY AND DO BREWFEST!!! Before it runs out! You want at least 1 Brewmaiden trinket (get both if you can!) and the Brawler's Souvenir. DO THIS NOW! As of posting this, you've got about 2-4 days left until Brewfest is done until next year. Hurry! The Brawler's Souvenir is identical in stats to the Valor Medal of the First War and the Brewmaiden Trinkets give MORE stamina than Gossamer or Black Heart (though they lack on-use or proc). +170 Stamina on a trinket is Epic. Don't miss this. DO IT NOW.
All you have to do, is go to Blackrock Depths with a group and kill a Lv80 boss mob. Do this ASAP.

Try running CoS HC as well and hope that the tank doesn't need the shield that drops there. Or you could get a Titansteel Shield Wall
