New Mage. Need HelpFollow

#1 Oct 01 2009 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
What talent tree is the best for lvling. i have a few in fire, but the majority in frost. The fire is for fireball casting and cooloffs. Also, Should I be building my intellect up for my mana ...or my spirit up for mana regen? And advice would be very much appreciated.

I suggest reading through the sticky at the top of the forum (the greatest mage post ever) and come back after you have become more informed.

Just to add something, if you are frost specced you shouldn't (rarely) be casting fireball and vice versa.

Stack spellpower/int/stamina (approximately in that order) and any other stats you can get would be bonuses, but the first three are the most important to you.

Focus entirely on one tree until you're most of the way down it. I'd say for most folks, once you can have both Shatter and Frostbite, the frost tree is the most solid one for leveling. You shouldn't need the points in fire at all, really.

As for stats, you'll want to focus on Int, Spellpower, Crit/Haste(crit is less important when leveling frost) and some stamina until you get Molten Armor, then spirit becomes something to look for.
