My Dual Spec'ed Shammy (Enh/Elem) just hit 69 and since
I had enough caster equipment on him to equip what I think
is an average leveling toon of this level I gave it a try.
Something is wrong because my damage was incredibly bad.
Here are my stats;
SP 422/518(w/FTW)
Crit 13.25%
Mana Regen 124/58
Totems include both Wraths.
Glyphs are LB and FTW.
Spec is a variation of the old 57/14/0 build with the 2 points
gained from the talent that was reduced from 5/5 to 3/3 being
added somewhere I have yet to decide. Current is 55/5/0.
Shocks seemed to go well enough but my LB's were incredibly
puny. I was taking 10+ casts to put down some Level 67 Orges
in BEM. No other caster I have played (Boomkin 80/Mage 80/
Warlock 80) was this bad.
I know that the spec really takes of at level 75 with LvB but
is it a viable leveling spec before that ?

Yes.
Were those ogres some kind of special ogres? That maybe have more health than normal?
With that amount of SP and the glyphs, there's no way that can be correct, something is up. Take some screenshots of it?

check to make sure your using proper spell ranks there is a bug with dual spec that downranks your spells when you switch, i would say re do all spall ranks even if it shows proper rank then retest your dmg

Bingo! The LB was rank 7 instead of Rank 12. (There were others but none near this bad.)That's 391 less
damage on average per cast. Just tried it out on the same Ogres and they died in 1 Shock and 2 LB's.
Much better! But now I have to check every Dual Spec Toon I have for this potential problem. Oh well.....

Wow... that is good to know! I don't have a dual-specced character yet, but once I get that going I am going to have to remember that.
ya it is a confirmed issue when you dual spec some spells get messed up and down rank in the process, surprised bliz has yet to fix this, and when you consider shaman is a proc heavy class (LO and lots of crits) this affects your dps big time...
