So, we ran Onyxia 25 man for the first time last Friday. We had multiple Paladin tanks so they brought all the welps together in one big group. DPS Nirvana, seriously I was shaking with delight looking at my damage/dps. I then got the idea, why not dot up half the whelps with Living Bomb? I started having a DPSgasm at the thought. I proceeded to throw caution to the wind and dot them up, 1, 5, 10, then started blizzard again. Oh, raid buffed I have about 53% crit. So the LB's started to tick and I got a warning then they started expiring and criting cascading through the whelps. Needless to say I died a horrible and quick death. But it was still a joy to see the damage.

That's pretty awesome. I gave up Fire when Arcane passed it up, and now on whelps I pop PoM -> Flamestrike(basically 100% crit) then Blizz. Fortunately the Pally I run with knows me and has me on "Focus" lol.

Is there a different method for 25 man? When I did 10 man Ony on patch day, we had all the ranged focus fire on Ony during the second phase.

I just LB loads of them Welps, then start nuke the boss in the sky....

Not to much aggro on welps and loads of dmg all toghether :)

If ur LB-ing the welps ad start AoE them as well, u prolly pull agrro yes.

I only do that when spamming Arcane Explosion. Since I'm not specced Arcane, there's little danger of that. Smiley: laugh

Well, did the Ony 10-man run yesterday, they made the bugger too eesy...

Range DPS, stay on Onyxia when little welps are comming, no rush, let the tank get aggro on little buggers. Give it a good 10 seconds, then AoE the welps, just one or 2 casts and the welps are dead, continue straight away on boss in the air...

Nuke boss till she comes down, let the occasion little welps be picked up by offtank, take them down. Continue on boss, boss killed.

She did only one Breath of Fire when she was in the air, since nobody got hit by it, we gained the achievement for that.

Quicky 2 minute fight.

^This, this is going to be me when I get to do Onyxia...I'm actually known as the guild pyromaniac because I begin giggling maniacally in vent when I get to do a living bomb spam.

During boring guild heroic runs, I've come up with a technique that can add a bit of "spice." I call it "pre-casting blizzard." It works best in a situation like CoS, where there are guys who are immune to damage for the first few seconds (the dragonflight guys). It's necessary to have a situation where everyone is impatiently waiting for the next pull to start, the tank and the healer are just sitting there... and then they notice the blizzard going before the pull could begin. Being overgeared as a group, and having a fun guild has many advantages. Our healers will often play a game of "how many times can we get the rogue to die" in heroic runs, same idea as pre-casting blizzard, a way to change things up.
