Now... idk I just don't feel as energised to try to make the idiots work together.

This is me. I used to lead raids & put together PuG's all the time. Now I can't be bothered and just do guild runs or put myself in LFG and let someone else find a damn tank while I go about my business and farm or do a few dailies. I think I finally realised how stressful all the other crap is and am enjoying not having to deal with it - just turn up and do my job.

BTW - we are all starting to sound a bit like Grumpy Old Men :) Mind you, there are a few of us that qualify pretty well (ancient 36yr old here Smiley: grin)

Hunters who use Arcane Shot

I haven't played my hunter in forever (plus she's only 47) but what's bad about arcane shot?

Nothing is wrong with Arcane Shot, but if that's ALL your Hunter is doing...

Maz... your post makes me a sad panda.

In short I feel your pain that's why I spend my life as a DPS and only kick the tank off his throne when he is being a ****** (true story).

That's probably the healthy way to go. I'm a bit of a *********, though, so I'm leveling up a tank to match my healer.

Nothing's bad about Arcane Shot, especially if you're a Survival Hunter with Lock 'n' Load, but when you only use Arcane Shot (has a cooldown) and auto-shot, you're pretty much set up to fail miserably on the DPS meters. Not that I follow the meters all that closely, but when a Hunter's doing 700 DPS at level 80 in epic gear, I start to wonder.

And it's no joke, really, I've seen Hunters who did nothing but spam Arcane Shot and auto-attack. Oh, and demand my Innervate whenever they ran out of mana.

I watched a hunter run through an entire instance with Aspect of the Viper up. When I asked him about it, he said "But I need mana".

I have heard of 1 (ONE mind you) hunter on lothar that with AUTO SHOOT was pulling aggro off an normal heroic geared tank.

Haste build my friend told me it literaly looked like a machine gun, he had to go out side the instance to get on his mount with the venders, 3 times to get more ammo. he would wait on the tank the get 2 sunders then start auto shooting it would aggro him after a few seconds and die at his feet, he would move to the next one same thing, ect. on bosses he would use his pets taunt when the tanks was on CD it was nuts.

BUT until you are THAT hunter use more than Arc shot :)

There is NO WAY a hunter is pulling 3k+ DPS with autoshot alone. It's just not going to happen. And tanks can pretty much be asleep and get that much TPS out, and as long as TPS is higher than DPS the DPS will never get aggro.

A bad tank does not a good hunter make.

PS- Any Hunter with enough haste to autoshot like a "machine gun" is riding the Roflbus to Failville.

My friends list is booming with people that I'm never going to group with - ever. Anyone know of a good addon that does that for you? An ignore list with the possibility of adding notes?

I recommend IgnoreMore, which extends your ignore list and lets you make notes on why. For general player notes I use NotesUNeed, since I can add notes on people without having to befriend them or put them on Ignore.

Bear in mind that This was a rumer(sp?)told by a buddy of mine as he was gearing up his ret pally. I never actually saw it or I would have been like 'OK, fail tank, move' but w/e.
