Ret Raid Readiness

This is a guide assuming you are both geared and talented as per this thread.

Fortunately, Trial of the Champion makes spending the effort on 10man Obsidian Sanctum and Naxx basically worthless. This in combination with the new Conquest Emblem change makes it very easy to be on par, if not better, than people who wear raid gear.

Here are the sections:

*Getting Started
*Conquest Emblems, the new currency
*Rep is no longer "optional"
*Rich Folks(in progess)
*Obsidian Sanctum and Vault of Archavon(in progess)
*Naxxramas(in progess)
*Ulduar(in progress)
*Trial of the Crusader(coming soon-ish)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This space will keep track of updates.

*Rep is no longer "optional"

When you get into raiding, not "feeling" like rep grinding is no longer acceptable. There are numerous rep grinds that are required.

1: Sons of Hodir
The Sons of Hodir are located in Stormpeaks but require a lengthy quest chain to reach them. The first quest is They Took Our Men! in K3, leading into a 16 quest chain. Upon completion, you receive quest The Last of Her Kind and follow an 8 quest chain. During the final quest of the chain, Slag Covered Metal should drop off a giant. This leads to The Refiner's Fire quest which leads to A Spark of Hope that upon completion will finally make you Neutral with Sons of Hodir.

Once Neutral, you pick up Forging an Alliance which allows you to finally perform Dailies for them. As you gain higher in reputation with them you unlock more Dailies.

From Dailies alone it will take 8 days from Friendly to Honored, 8 days from Honored to Revered, and 11 days from Revered to Exalted. If you have the gold, it is far easier to just buy the Relic of Ulduar on the Auction House. They average 1g apiece and it requires 1,560 Relics to Exalted. Not too bad considering the benefits.

When Exalted you gain access to Greater Inscription of the Axe which is absolutely required for serious raiding. The process sounds long and looks intimidating but averages less than 2 hours time to reach Neutral. If you buy the Relics in advance, you'll be set in a single sitting.

2. Knights of Ebon Hold
The Knights of Ebon Hold are based in Icecrown but are not acessable, similar to Sons of Hodir, until a quest chain is completed. The first quest is A/HIt's all Fun and Games which is a 3 chain quest. After this quest you have another 6 quest chain starting with A/H If He Cannot Be Turned. After the next quest, A/HThe Shadow Vault the area transforms and allows you access to the quartermaster. There are dozens of quests and a few very easy dailies so getting Revered(All that is required for Arcanum of Torment. Though for Death-Inured Sabatons you need Exalted, and the boots beat out Spiked Titansteel Boots and are useable until Ulduar.

There's a ret guide at the top of the forum, you may do better updating that.

Was more hoping this would replace it as it is outdated. Seems like it's many months behind current game. Also seems wrong in a lot of areas(as it is corrected by posters).

These will fall off the page before long but I'll just have them linked in sig. I don't expect stickies on them since we have 5 already.

Ya I understand, I you won't be able to edit someone else post anyway.

If you get it finished I'll add my weight to getting it stickied.

**** knows why some **** rated down my comment above yours.

you still working on this? i'd like to add a link to this at the top of my gear list as an additional gear list resource. your format is a bit different than mine and might appeal better to some people when its complete.

Been a bit hectic, guild is filling back out and they want me to be Paladin Class Lead so I've been swamped. I will definitely continue work on this though :)
