I just grabbed the t7 shoulders and have a red socket now. I'm over hit cap. Over soft expertise cap. Now what do I want to start gemming for? Agility or armor pen? I've been searching around trying to find the post that discussed it but I just can't seem to find it.

Q: TL;DR. Sum it up for me!

A: Sigh. Okay. Assuming you have ~ivl 215 gear, as it stands now (3.2.1), you want to switch to gemming/flasking/eating for ArP around 450 for 25m raids, or 300 if you have Grim Toll/Mjolnir’s Runestone. (high 600’s for 10m raids.)
For 3.2.2, you would switch at 850ish for 25m raids, and 1150ish for 10m. For GT/MR, I need to test it some more and get more data points, but at this gear level, the proc is tough to manage since you have to (attempt to) stack so much ArPen for it to be useful, but then much of the proc effect is wasted due to the cap.

more clicky

Thank you very much. That was very useful. I went through a few pages of Google and different search terms and all I could find were opinions on random forums rather than any useful numbers. "Armor pen sucks" doesn't help when you know it is useful at some point.

I think so, of course I am deeply invested in ArP and to cheap to switch out.

Sigh really did not want to switch back. Cost so much so many gem slots. I wanna stab blizz in the eye for shoving ArP down our throat for 2 patches then being all oops didn't mean to do that.

edit: After Talking to the author of the blog (Alaron) it seem that because I have TGrim Toll that I should stick to ArP for 25m raids and switch to AGI for 10m. I think I will just stick it out with ArP since I already have so much more lined up just need to see it drop

I am in the same boat. Sitting at around 450 ArP but I have a GT so not going back to Agi. As every new DPS drop I get has even more ArP on it so the change would be insanely expensive and in all likely hood not that permanent.

I went back to Agility. After losing the 4pcT8 bonus to Savage roar, the rotation got so tight that I could definitely maintain it, but with the low crit%, it was making my brain hemorrhage.

It ended up being ~ 200dps increase for me right now. Sitting at 403 ArP with one gem still left to switch out.

I'm gonna pick up the T9 headpiece either tonight or tomorrow and then I'll be looking to upgrade my gloves.

Ya my DPS would likely go up with all Agi as well but I barely DPS so for me the cost isn't worth it at all.

If I was more full time DPS I would do it as the bump to cost ratio is for me not worth it at all. I will likely do new gear with Agi gems for the time being.
