I was wondering if anyone had any tips in regards to gemming and enchanting PvP Gear for arenas. I'm thinking of giving a "serious" attempt to arenas. My arms warrior friend and I have been sort of at it for awhile, but both of us are heavily PvE or BG pvp and found ourselves a bit unprepared for arenas. Honestly, we had about a 1/1 win/loss ratio and got hammered senseless more than once.

We're not looking at any hardcore pvp arenas, but we'd like to give it another shot and we'd like to give it our best shot. I have a handful of some ilevel 200 epic pvp gear (I believe deadly? games not open right now so I can't check it) along with a few WG pieces. What kind of gems should I put in? What would be a suggested build? Can I get away with using my pve raiding build?

Check out SK Gaming's pally rankings to get an idea of what the serious folks are doing (you can click on any one of them to see their build and equipment including gems/enchants). Prot-healing is getting nerfed with the upcoming patch so I think that more than ever you'll be seeing 51/20 or variations thereof being the PVP spec for healing pallies now. I don't see any hybrid builds at the moment that would be viable.

As for gems/enchants I see a lot of pallies not adding resilience and going for spellpower instead. Personally I got comfortable enough around 800 resil to start focusing on other things (but I am not very good so I probably need more). Find the level of resilience that feels comfortable for you and then go spellpower with the rest. Tuskarr's on the boots though, definitely. :)

Haven't really played this season, but I did regem my gear for holy. I might be quitting though, but you can check out my gems - http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Eldre%27Thalas&n=Rengis

Mainly used those orange gems in either red or yellow sockets. Luminous gems, they have spellpower/int. Blue sockets I mixed spellpower, int, stam, resil. Leaning towards spellpower. We mostly use flash of light with some holy shocks in PVP, and I'd say 80% of my healing comes from FoL, maybe more. I definately notice a difference between say 2200sp and 2500+.
