Hey everyone!
I have a little question for you all who play Shaman character : I'd like to Dual Spec, but I don't know what to choose. For sure I want to spec Resto, but for the second talent tree, I still hesitate between Ele and Enh. So i'd like you to help me choose. I think I would be more going for Ele spec, but i'm not sure... So could you tell me what I should do, and why!? Like for raiding and soloing also...
Also, I searched in some forums but never found some clear answers... what do you guys think are the best professions for Shamans? I think herbalism and alchemy works pretty well, but some people say that enchanting is better while others say it's not a good profession for shamans. And there are many other professions so what do you all think?

One thing to consider is what sort of gear you have right now--if you've been leveling up in Enhancement gear with no caster set, then switching to Resto/Ele is going to be rough of course. 
Unless you really love melee combat, I would recommend going Elemental for your second spec. As you gather caster gear for both sets, you may find you're able to use a piece from one set while building up the other, which should make the gearing process just that little bit less painful.
Or, if you only want the DPS spec for solo questing, you should be able to get by just fine using your Resto set. (Resto gear + Enhancement spec, on the other hand, is not fun. Don't try it, trust me. >.<)

Lady covered the first bit, but this should be addressed.
It really doesn't matter what you pick, everything has benefits. But for you, Herbalism/Alchemy sounds good. Alchemy is great when you first hit 80 for the potions, and also the elixirs. If you're low on a certain stat, (hit, crit, etc.) you can pop an elixir for it. Flasks are great as well. Plus you get increased durations of elixirs/flasks as an Alchemist. Herbalism also makes some nice money if you farm it.

Thanks to both of you for these great answers and advices. For the spec, I was already thinking about going Resto and Ele, so I think I'll do that... Especially that, in general, I prefer spellcasting than melee combat. And for the professions, I know Herbalism/Alchemy is a good mix of professions, but I was wondering if I should change for some other things. I particularly find that something like Mining and Jewelcrafting seems nice; or also Enchanting, but I'm not sure yet. Any advices about pros and cons for these professions for a Shaman? For now, Alchemy and Herbalism work very well and I think I'll keep it like this for still a while.
However, I'd be happy to hear more opinions... If someone else has something to say, just post it!

Ya i have to agree with the above, I know a lot of restos that really like hast/crit gear, even though that sac's there mana regen and you wont need much hit if it is just for pvp/solo.
Depending on if you really like time shaved off your grounding totem you could also sac it for an extra 50 resil if you go for 2 resto pvp pieces and 2 ele pvp pieces which helps.
I have a question as well, anyone try eng on shaman? the glove chant seems like a solid choice for pvp as well as rocket boots, using the buff with elemental mastery gives you more bang for your buck, and if your troll/orc i am sure linking racials in this combo also helps...

All top PvP'ers pretty much are all Engineering. The glove rockets and boot boosters are very useful for PvP seeing as they can offer a little bit more burst, (possibly the killing blow) and the boots can escape a sticky situation or LOS.
I figured as much seems like that are way more usful then other chants you can get for those items...
how hard is it to level eng? I probably would drop skinning as I enjoy the use of LW and its bracer chants...

Engi will be rough without someone feeding you mats--even with my husband's miner providing most of what my Warrior needed, I still had to spend about 3-500 gold just to get up to 420, since he wasn't willing to constantly farm the trickier materials. And that's over the course of several weeks where I could watch the AH for good deals.
Here's the number one reason you want to go Engineering as a Shaman, though.

I'm resto/enh and I love the ability to go from being a caster hanging in the back to being up close and personal opening up a vein.
Sure the gear is a little harder to get into and there's not as much cross-over. But the contrast makes it just awesome!
As for professions, I'm of the view that the most useful profession combination for dual-spec shaman (and really anything else) is jeweler/enchanter. Not only is that a very good money-maker these days between prospecting and disenchanting cheap stuff off the AH, the jeweler only and enchanter only recipes are very useful to prop up all of the possible shaman talent trees.
