Totems...Follow

So it seems like every time I read something about what Blizzard wants to do with shamans are to give us more totems with "cool" affects and abilities...

What I wander is what they will add, I asume this will probably take place in the next expansion. This I think could be a good move from blizzard since we provide no unique buffs except Blood Lust/Heroism to a raid at this point. As it stands a warlock can bring sp, several classes provide the critical strike debuff, death knights bring str and agl buffs as well as wf, pallies can bring our mana regen and armor buffs... the list goes on...

More abilities like earth grasp, magma/nova, tremmor/cleanse, and grounding could help quite a bit, as it stands these are mainly what I tend to use in pvp as totems now.

I would still like to see some of our totems have a toss affect (magma/nova and earth grasp) even if range is short... I would also like to see some cause and affect abilities with totems, whether it be a buff when four totems are summoned or a debuff or affect when totems are killed...

Now if they do decide to do some more with our totems I would like to see atleast one more "unique" buff and possibly a new water/ice totem and a new wind totem, Fire might be nice too but our fire choices aren't terrible for pvp and pve... earth totems seem pretty strong and my biggest issue here is generaly trying to decide what is best to use...

any ideas, thoughts?

Whatever benefits your group the most, and don't overlap effects. Have a Paladin? Healing Stream, not Mana Spring. Have a Death Knight? Stoneskin, not Strength of Earth. If all of your effects are already being brought? Use them anyway, to catch any cracks in the original buff, or something just for you.

I agree with your post jmfmb, Blizzard needs to fix totems..it's just not very high priority these days.

In Vanilla they were great, unique buffs, everyone wanted Shaman's for the uncountable group buffs and utility. TBC it got watered down. In Wrath? "Grab that Shaman and make him the Bloodlust b*tch. Otherwise he can go smoke a bong or some sh*t, I really don't care."

lol that quote was a bit more taken out of context and was a bit general anyhow I ment more in pvp I generally struggle to decide between tremmor and earth grasp.

But ya some "unique buffs" would be nice... The most useful buffs at this point seem to be healing stream/cleanse, tremmor, and I think wrath of air (i think its still unique), every other buff can be applied from another class.

Now I know the range has been increased but they are still stationary buff, I think they could be alil beefier or unique, with the way BL works now, there is little reason to have more then one shaman in a raid.

Maybe I am wrong but I miss when buffs where stackable and where not so generalized...

anyhow, i would really like to see a couple more offensive totems fore pvp...

I was secretly hoping for it to get sigged. Smiley: sly

But you brought up some good points, we do need our uniqueness back.

There might be a use to having 2 Shaman's in a raid though, at least for 25's. Bloodlust actually has a range. I popped it once and people on the other side of KT's room didn't get it, this has been tested/discussed, and this seems to be true.
