If you were stacking ArPen, Shred was the idol you should've used.

That being said, yes, Mutilation was calculated to be superior to both existing idols for DPS purposes.

I was under the impression that after 350 or so ArP that the rip became better then shred for DPS.
I want to buy the new Idol but wondering if I should just wait until I get some of the tier before I spend badges on it.

No, Shred Idol for ArP was in general the way to go. Mutilation is in general better until you start getting harsh DRs on crit from agility, which is roughly full T9.

Mechanics check, you have two idols:
One gives a set amount of damage to an attack that is mitigated by armor.
The other gives a set abount of damage to a bleed ability that is not mitigated by armor.

As you increase your ability to ignore armor, which of these is going to become more effective? Hint: it's not the bleed attack.

No need to be rude. I mean I know this is a WoW community but people are for the most part helpful in the druid forums.

Don't take it personally, he was walking out the entire line of reasoning rather than just saying "You're wrong, it's XYZ."

2 more triumph badges and you're all mine!

If my work schedule hadn't changed all the sudden, I would have it already >.< QQ

Can't wait to see what my rip ticks look like with both this and the Greatness trinket proc'd at the same time as well as my Pyrite Infuser. O.o

I might even try to ninja into our Naxx 25 run tonight for a chance at Grim Toll dropping. I'll be at work, but hence teh ninja :P
