Last time i tried leveling a warlock was back in BC, and i felt like scrathing my eyes out at lvl 30 so i havent logged on to it since...untill last night

So i was playing my friends warlock while he fixed his laptop...did his un goro raptor daily...using incinerate...i think to myself, hey this is a fun spell, maybe ill look into leveling a destro lock, looked through the forums here to see if affliction was still the lvling spec, to my dismay it still is, but what the heck, i figured id give it another try before i just write my warlock off again, i put all my talent points in...zomgwtfwhendidwarlocksgetfun, im now hooked on lvling him, just thought id share how awesome warlocks are ^_^, he's ranking up there with my druid and spriest on the funometer

Actually, affliction and demo are the 2 preferred lvling specs.

But glad you're having fun.

since pre bc I've leveled up all the way being destro, don't be discouraged by it. who doesn't love those awesome crits :p. yeah u can survive longer being the other 2 specs but then it almost becomes boring with them since u never realy have to worry about anything or get to see any fancy crits. Hey if ur having fun, go with it, u dont HAVE TO listen to what others say. Just do what works best for you

the main thing i hated about locks before was dotting and casting a couple times then standing there waiting for it to die, i hate drinking, and by hate i mean i wont level a class that requires drinking every 4 pulls, seems like im wasting too much of my time, so standing there for a minute or more waiting for a mob to die definately wasnt fun at all

If you were ever there standing and waiting while leveling as Afflic you were doing it wrong. Especially if you hate drinking. Real simple, Life Tap and Drain Life. Then your doing something instead of standing there, and also filling your mana and then life without having to ever drink. Alternatively, you can send voidy after a 2nd mob, DoT it up, then a third, DoT it up, then a 4th, DoT it up, and when you get low on mana Life Tap and Drain Life one then keep going. In my experience, leveling as Destro meant drinking alot.

it was back before 3.0 that i was trying to lvl him, i'd have full dots on the mob with my vw out and would miss like crazy burning alot of mana just trying to get dots on (this was against mobs my lvl and spell hit talent), and my vw was also taking quite a bit of damage which drained my life keeping him alive, maybe i just had alot of bad luck XD

I have no idea why I am looking in the lock forums.

But as for leveling this wins:

This will make you level faster ever time. Fun. It works the best.

k, prior to.. roughly lvl.25-30, warlocks are boring to level.. after that they're the quickest and easiest to level of the lot
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#IbxbbhZ0Gf
this is what you want to be at by lvl 25-30, you level with your Voidwalker and well.. all you do is you find an area full of mobs 2-4 levels highier than you and you just simply DOT. DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT. everything and everything, don't stop pulling, just keep on dotting. if your health gets low, use drain life. whenever a mob is about to die, use drain soul on it to get back more mana. don't forget to use your voidwalkers shield and to leave him on defensive.. the end result is the first 1-2 hits from each mob is on the VW, then they chase you... by the time they reach you they're dead and you've got all your mana/health back. once you hit around lvl.40 and you've got the siphon life talent too it's even easier, no need to drain life (most of the time) and you can happily swap to elite mobs 2-3 levels above you instead of normal mobs.. end result is loads of exp, ZERO down time and full health and mana after every fight

POST EDIT

you don't want to go any further in demo than I've linked (some argue that you want soul-link.. personally i'd only get that after you've got all the good talents in affliction.. which pretty much means putting 53+ points in affliction)
