Im in a raiding guild that is in the process of progressing through 10 man uld, currently trying to kill general. My problem is that im consistently 500 dps below everyone else in the raid, and i feel like im not pulling my weight. Im using the standard fire raiding spec, fire/arcane, and doing the correct rotation. id link my armory but its not loading up for me. Im in Nax 25/Uld 10 gear.

Can you post this "standard fire raiding spec" of yours?
and post up your armory when you get a chance.
500dps really isn't that awful considering that people are doing around 4-6k dps on fights in Ulduar (at least 25man, I guess that number will be a bit lower in 10man). What raid buffs do you have in your 10man raid -- do you have a lot of ranged buffs or is it melee heavy? Are you keeping scorch up (not glyphed for it I hope)? General isn't a fair fight to compare against as it is a lot about luck with shadow crashes. I personally respec to an efficient frost spec for general, then respec back to arcane/fireball afterwards.
Do you have some sort of combatlog parse to post?
Don't forget that mages don't really have a rotation, but more of a priority system.
Scorch (for yourself and other ranged dps) > Living Bomb Application > HotStreak (or about the same) > Fireball

Yes im keeping up scorch, and i realize it is a stacked group for the melee, but when im 500-700 below everyone else on IC hard mode i feel like a dead weight.

The glyphs didn't show up, but I assume you are using living bomb, fireball, and molten armor.
That being said, when you have 0 synergy with the rest of your group, be lucky that you are only that far behind the melee dps.
