My current main (and my original '05 toon) just hit 78 this morning. The past couple of levels running instances I have partied with other 'Locks and all of them have asked me "How did you get that bad *** Infernal!?"

Educate yourselves fellow locks!! For Shame!

Sad when a lock doesn't know where to get him.

For all classes, you should do a bit of research before making a toon. This way, you look less newbish, since you know a few things.

Not knowing how to get an infernal for a lock is sad. It's a great pet, which I've used a few times to do group quests solo.

I just don't recommend the method you linked. You linked an item drop that teaches it. I'd prefer the quest method, due to it being guaranteed you get to learn it, once you finish the quest chain.

1st, linking to Wowhead is annoying. If you link to the item here on Allakhazam, a nice mouseover feature enables us to see the item without having to open up a new tab. Example: Grimoire of Inferno

2nd, why link to an item that has a 3% chance of dropping from elite mobs when you can link to the guy who gives you the quest? Smiley: wink

Impsy <Niby's Minion> (location)

3rd, why not tell people how to get the Doomguard as well? We all know that Curse of Doom spawns one, or has a chance to spawn one, from mobs that die from Curse of Doom damage and give experience. Very unreliable, until you start using Curse of Doom regularly, then the Doomguard seems to spawn constantly (bleh). Anyway, there's a spell you can learn to summon the Doomguard, called Ritual of Doom. The quest is soloable and the chain starts at Daio the Decrepit, located in The Tainted Scar of Blasted Lands.

WARNING: The NPC is in an area patrolled by level 50-60 elites, if I remember correctly. Caution is advised.

Don't mock those elites there much more powerful then normal ones, 50k + life and hit for 700+ damage.

May not be that much to an 80 but most people wont be that high level when they go to face them.

On another note while you don't have to face the uber elites necessarily you will have to face elites that have 17k and up life that are immune to enslavement and fear, and hit for around 400+ damage i recommend either a group or the tried and true out level them and use void walker did it on my lock at lvl 70 and still had the occasional problem, usually when i tried to do something that wouldn't work such as enslaving them or fearing them.

Let me guess, you never did the quests? Those elites will instagib most level 50ish/60ish Warlocks. Hell, they'll instagib pretty much anything at that level. Of course, if you're level 80, it won't matter much, but better to be safe than sorry, hence why I recommended people to be cautious.

A single demon in the Tainted Scar killed my voidwalker and took me to 25% before I could get away at level 70. That's an old world raid zone. And so I never got the Ritual of Doom spell, on my still 70 warlock.

The Infernal chain was fun, though.

Two things, one I never did bother with it. Two, I was just laughing at any 80s who went back to do it were scared to death because of 60 elites.

actually those lvl.60 elites are alot more powerful than you think. at 70 they'd still rape most people, especially clothies.. at 80 they're definately killable but seeing as they're not CCable you need to make sure you don't pull tomany.. they can still kill you :P

and @ the OP... lulz, i got the inferno at lvl.52, got the ritual of doom at 60 but i do know alot of locks without either... which is sad as they are (or were) epic... the inferno is still worth using for the last 1minute of any boss fight
