Where can I read exactly what that or they are, functions and how to apply if I decide to do one.

This is for myself and a couple of guild pallies, we want to know all there is on it, then decide.

Thanks

You want to know what the role of a tank is?

1) Hold Aggro
2) Survive 1
3) Minimize ALL damage from mobs. That includes to the rest of the raid.

That seems like a very simple list. 1 is the easiest to do. 2 is not entirely up to you, obviously. 3 is what helps define tanks as "good" or "bad" in most people's eyes. Keeping breathing mobs faces away, tail swiping ones faced sideways, picking up adds quickly, etc.

No Loki,

I know what a tank needs to do trust me.

The other night a guildie who might start leveling his Pally more, asked if I knew what a tank bot was and here I am. I keep thinking of a repair bot.

No one seems to know.

Thanks anyway

What they might be talking about is, rather than using a generic raid frame (standard Blizzard, Xperl, etc) to watch your raid while tanking, instead using an addon targeted at healers (e.g. Healbot). Then instead of binding your actions to heals, you bind them to tank-oriented abilities - say, Righteous Defense or Intercept.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone has done this with VuhDo and made it available, but I cba to search for it because I don't actually tank in the gear I save from being sharded. And if I did, I'd use Grid.

Or do you mean some kind of item you can drop that will tank for you, like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=4392 ?
