Well, I got bored, and I was thinking, which isn't a good combination :P I made an interesting observation though:

Pretty much what I'm seeing is that Ret's "rotation" is more or less now based on a priority list. "What ability do I hit first when multiple are available?" kind of thing. We're pretty close to a Fury Warrior now, no?

Crusader Strike Judgement <--> Bloodthirst
Divine Storm <--> Whirlwind
Judgement Crusader Strike <--> Heroic Strike
Avenging Wrath <--> Recklessness/Death Wish
and now we got Exorcism on Art of War proc <--> Slam on Bloodsurge proc

Yes, I realize different CDs, and HS is a rage dump not a permanent part of a rotation, etc.., but the basic idea is still the same.

I'm not really sure where I was going with this, lol. Think I need sleep >.> I just have seen a number of posts recently, on other sites not just this one, about people complaining about the Exorcism change. For a long time it was never part of a normal rotation given the small number of targets it worked on, but I think a lot of people really got spoiled when they made the change to have Exo hit any type of target. Now that it's back to a "situational" spell, people are freakin' out.

/shakes head

Oh well :)

EDIT: that looks a little better :) I was tired, lol

I'd argue that Judgement > anything. First off the DPS is among our highest and second it's our only form of mana regen. An OOM Pally is a sad Pally.

Aside that I'm not a huge fan of changes but I did find that doing SoR on Trash boosted my DPS a nice chunk.

Swapped Crusader Strike and Judgement. Made more sense now that I'm more awake ;)

Also Sarion, I keep forgetting to say it, but I love your sig :) Always gives me a chuckle. If you haven't, check the last link in my sig. I found it quite amusing as well ^^

I'm not much for "Rotation", as I am for "Priorities".

I've always thought it to be this way:

In order of Priority:

1). Judgment. As Ret, your Judgment places +critical hit on your target, restores a large chunk of your mana, and does some nice damage. If it is up, you always want to hit it. Also, with Patch 3.2, if there are no warriors in the group, the -attack power if you took vindication is always well-liked by your tank.

2). If you are fighting a pack of Undead or Demons, Holy Wrath can hit *hard* and stun them for a couple seconds, which is invaluable to your tank's efforts. I've personally saved tanks' lives, especially in that Undead room in Heroic Drak'tharon Keep. One well-placed Holy Wrath stunned the whole group, when the tank had 10% health left... a crit Greater Heal from the priest and he was good to go.

3). Hammer of Wrath. This hits *hard*, but only usable when mobs are low-health.

4). Consecrate. Any time that Consecrate is not on the ground, is time you're not doing DoT.

5). Exorcism, if Art of War is up. This hits hard, especially if it is Undead or Demon.

6). Crusader Strike. Nice, cheap, and does fairly nice damage. Anytime it is up, I can't see a reason to not use it, Unless...

7). Divine Storm. ..... unless there's more than 1 mob around. If both Crusader Strike and Divine Storm are up, do DS first.

So, last words, Ret Paladin in 3.2 isn't a mindless "Rotation" anymore, it is a lot more situational... when abilities are up, you need to ask yourself questions...

1). "Are we fighting large packs of Undead?" If yes, Holy Wrath!
2). "Are we fighting multiple mobs?" Divine Storm.
3). "Is my Art of War up?" Exorcism.
4). "Is the mob Low-Health?" Hammer of Wrath (and probably Avenging Wrath too, for a boss...)

So we go from a "1, 2, 3" style thinking to more "If, then, else" style thinking instead.
