I'm leveling a paladin atm, with the idea of being prot for fun and just zerg things

I guess I don't know enough of how str is converted to AP to see if its worth the trade off

I'll prob just end up going plate because its plate :)

Any advice would be helpful

Edit: The reson for even thinking about it is that hit is not found on many items, and is somewhat useful while leveling

1 Str = 2 AP

Get plate. You (hopefully) won't be using the BoA chest once you get to a point where hit actually matters, and you wouldn't want to be wearing a leather chest at that time anyway. Plus the plate will give more AP (particularly with talents) and armor.
