So what's the word on the street for itemization in 3.2? Do I really need to get rid of my intellect gems and enchants in favor of Mp5 now? Do I use wisdom instead of kings? Say it ain't so. Say it ain't so.

My guild is currently finishing up 10 naxx and maybe starting EoE and Ulduar in the upcoming weeks. We're not really touching into the latest content and won't be up against anything like hard modes for awhile if ever. But I'd like to itemize and gear as efficiently as I can.

If I remember correctly, theyre buffing the MP5 on gear, not sure how much you need, but I can only imagine more would help.

A big thing that will surely hurt is cutting the mana return on crits in half.

Im also thinking about switching from Prot. to Holy and am interested in hearing the itemization changes myself.

The most recent verson of Rawr I have didn't support seal procs from Judgements, so I'm interested in seeing how things change when full 3.2 support comes out. If it's true, judging to keep the buff up (i.e. every 20 seconds) would regen, with SoW, 1% of max mana per 5 seconds - basically the same as Replenishment - which would give back what the Replenishment and Divine Intellect nerfs took away.

As for itemization, the big changes are the Illumination nerf (30% return instead of 60%) and 25% better Mp5 itemization across the board. I expect that the stat dynamic has changed from something like 1 Mp5 = 1 Int = 2 Crit with Mp5 seriously overitemized to something like 2 Mp5 = 3 Int = 5 Crit with Mp5 slightly overitemized. Or, holding the value of 1 point of Int the same, 1 point of Mp5 would be, say, 33% more valuable and one point of crit 33% less valuable.

Or, TL;DR: Mp5 isn't worth stacking, Crit isn't worth abandoning, a mix of stats is good, and stacking Int is still Best Practice (tm). But the Mp5/Crit playing field is much more level.

Most interesting is that Rawr suggests that Haste for burst is significantly more valuable than in 3.1, enough so that Mp5/haste and Crit/haste throughput gear both outweigh Crit/Mp5 regen gear.

Watch for Haste/Mp5 gear.

Haste. 600-700ish, enough to have FoL at about 1.0X seconds. It is possible to get below 1 second raid buffed but with gcd not going past 1 second with haste, it would be wasted itemization to go below 1 second.

Crit, you will still want some (think mp5/crit balancing in TBC). Ditto Mp5, the basic minimums I couldn't tell you yet.

Gemming, Intellect still wins.

Make sure you get your Beacon Glyph.

how about blessings still kings or do I want to invest points in imp blessing of wisdom?

When we raid we usually have a resto shaman with us with improved totem. But how about 5 mans? I've been running kings and haven't had a problem so far. Even in the new one. Its challenging, but now I'm having to play like I did back in BC. Flash of light being the main heal. It hasn't been a huge adjustment. Just weird playing old school again.

Really doesn't matter, if you are low on regen then bow, if not bok.

In a raid situation, I figure there will usually be another healadin or a shaman. With the points I saved, it allows me into Aura Mastery - which is admittedly situational, but I have found it quite helpful on fights like Hodir and Mimiron, when Divine Sac is on cooldown.

Been running Ulduar 25 since patch day so i thought I'd post some comments.

First of all, I have not changed my gear since 3.1 but I did regem with the epic gems like for like. I have changed from a 51/2/18 spec to a 51/18/2 spec.

On normal mode (non-hard), my output has certainly increased and I have not had any major mana issues at all. Perhaps had to use DP a few more times than normal.

Playstyle has changed. Beacon/SS on tank, single FoL for HoT and spam FoLs on raid, keep Light's Grace up and Judge liberally. Holy Shocks for emergency top ups.

All is good so far.

Will post more once I've tried it out on some hard modes.
