Just wondering whether there is any room for shadowfury in our rotation?

personally i love shadowfury on my destro lock and yes, there is one spot it can be used. And no it isn't in pvp though it can be quiet useful. I always sacrifice a point for it simply because of aoe purposes. In naxx 25 for example, my average aoe on mobs is 12k of this alone. You start off my casting seed on any target, then u use shadowfury why. why? you sometimes have to wait a bit for the seed to explode but if you use shadowfury then u get the instant explosion, the added damage off of shadowfury, and then you can simply spam RoF until ur shadowfury CD is up and repeat as before. It's added aoe dps and while many may argue about this shadowfury does have its uses so it a personal preference whether you want to have it or not
rotations don't exist on trash.. trash is pretty much all aoe anyways... when it comes to a rotation people mean on bosses and on bosses there is NO position within the dps 'rotation' for destruction for shadowfury.. to little damage for to much mana

Precisely. I use it on my desto lock only occasionally with multiple mobs. The mana cost is just too high for what you get. My lock runs with a DK and a pally, so sometimes I use it just to participate in the killing a bit before they have everything dead
There is definitely no room for it in the rotation on a boss.
I think I've maybe used shadowfury once or twice, just to test it out. Wasn't impressed.
Also, if you're doing 25-man Naxx and your SoC doesn't explode almost instantly, everyone else must either not be targeting the mob or everyone's DPS is far too low for any lvl 80 content.
My aoe of choice is usually RoF, due to no cast time. SoC has a cast time, which in 10 or 25 man groups, trash get cleared pretty fast. SoC isn't very helpful in those situations, imo, due to the mobs are pretty much cleared by the time you get 1 SoC cast.

my rotation for any trash that doesn't require focused attacks or me CCing is /follow. can't be ***** with aoeing, we've got plenty of others to do that, also i have a tendancy to pull hate a lot and die on trash so it's safer for me to just /follow :D hehe
I find that with small groups, like 5-man heroics, if I cast RoF or SoC, no matter how good the tank is, I tend to pull agro fast. It's best to just stick to your DoTs in such cases. Though if it's an instance with non-elite trash, I might use RoF, since it'll all likely die within a single RoF cast.
Due to shadowfury being basically useless, I hope they do buff it up some. Do something to make it worth using in a spec.

The better my gear becomes the more I find myself doing this same thing on larger trash pulls. 6-10 mobs if I spam SoC I am one dead little gnome. 2-5 mobs, I might live
well if you check out my gear you'll see why i pretty much do jack **** on aoe trash... even with our imba tanks it's to dodgy, though come 3.2 with a 3min SS cd i'm more likely to bother on trash ^^
