Twisted Visage enchant?Follow

Twisted Visage dropped for me in Uld last night and now I have the happy dilemma of figuring out how to enchant it. The problem is I will probably be using both to tank and dps (I lose a little sta and armor with it but gain so much more I think it'll work better than wow.allakhazam.com/search.html?q=origin+of+nightmares). My dps spec dearly wants a Beserker enchant but that obviously wont work when I tank, so I'm leaning toward Mongoose. But I can't believe that a TBC enchant would still be the best option, so I'm checking in with the Druid experts.

Mongoose is your winner for multipurpose weapon enchants. Some are saying it's actually better than Berserking if you have certain gear arrangements.

This alone says, 'Hai guyz. /wave Put Mongoose on me plox.'

I want to find these Mongoose back to awesome extreme for cat reports. I am guessing it is dark side cat stuff; as in once the ArP cap with trinket proc is reached you want the agi for the AP/crit increase but that's just my guess.

Mongoose it is, though the last thing I need in dps spec is more crit (52% in my last raid, 47% self-buffed). I hope they nerf crit along with dodge.

I got it last night too, straight to mongoose for me as my current gear level makes it as good or better than massacre or berserking and sometimes I have to help OT.

my raid buffed crit is between 57 and 60 :P

hit capped.

oh yeah.

It's in the FeralbyNight thread over on EJ. And yah, EJ seems pretty adamant that ArP beats Agility once you can get over around 300 ArP. I'm regemming my gear tonight now that I can hit 346 ArP. Now I just need a Mjolnir Runestone or Grim Toll.

I can agree with them on stationary fights, but I still see Agility beating out ArP on movement fights where you can't just sit and spam shred.

Again, until I can find someone doing more dps than me as feral on my server, it's hard for me to justify switching. I also haven't had **** for luck on getting grim toll so my ArP set wouldn't be ready yet anyway.

Nightcrowler has run his sim with factoring various fight conditions such as not being able to DPS the boss for 10+sec dur to movement etc and at high levels of gear, ArPen still wins out. So many of the challenging fights in Ulduar don't even require too much movement from us. Hodir, Thorim, Vezax, Ignis, XT, Mimiron (except P3), most of Aurayia (sp?). All are fights where you can basically be on the boss almost 100% of the fight. Even if you do have to move, you usually can do so without losing much if any DPS time.

I switched all my gems to ArPen on the weekend and now have 411 before my new Grim Toll procs. My DPS is higher than ever, but I couldn't tell you how much of that is the re-gemming and how much is due to getting the Grim Toll. Can't wait for tonight to try out my new chest and weapon!

I've used Mongoose on all my staff weapons for a while now. The proc is pretty insane and very druid-oriented. I tried a brief stint with Executioner when I re-gemmed for ArP but I found its proc to be far less impressive and quickly went back to Mongoose.

As for Berserking, it's a possible replacement for Mongoose but maybe I'm stuck in the past. I just really like Mongoose and can't think of anything to replace it.

The rest I get, and I can see not having to move for these two also, but how does your guild fight these two that you can stay behind them to Shred?

We kite Ignis around in a circle, so you'd always be on the scorched patches and taking damage, and we try to keep everyone in front of Auriaya to disperse the damage from Sonic Screech.

If there's a better way to do them (or I'm missing something about ArP and it works just as well for Mangle as Shred), I definitely want to know.

We do Ignis in a square, so there is always space in the center to DPS from behind him. The DPS really doesn't move that much.

Cat lady's Screech attack has a 2.5s cast time. So you can DPS from behind and just move in front when needed.

Which reminds me, I need to fix my enemy cast bars on my UI.

edit: I want to draw a picture also.

Yep, on cat lady, I just run through the boss during the cast time. With tremor totem, you aren't often away from the boss for more than a few seconds (especially with feral charge as backup) so often that is just energy pooling time and not much if any yellow damage lost.

For Ignis, our raid stands in the water on one side (ranged further back and melee right on the edge) and the tank moves the boss from left to right in front of the raid. Often, I don't have to reposition much at all on a transition. We only have the 2 positions as one scorch disappears about the same time the other appears. It works pretty well for us, but I can't really comment on how hard the healing or anything is as I just concentrate on tearing the boss a new one.

So what kind of numbers are you putting up on Ignis and XT and Kolo, one is a slight movement, one is a stand and dps self buffing and the last is a stand infront, no shredding.

I'm in pretty good gear, so figure mostly 10 man Ulduar/some 25 Naxx items/some 25 Uld items gear set.

I'm just trying to compare dps because I'm doing insane dps, higher than anyone else I've seen on the server atm, and I don't want to switch to something that isn't going to give me the same or higher results.

(I just also noticed that I somehow managed to get into the gear that gets me just at hit cap and just at expertise cap without wasting chants/gems or gimping myself on other stats. Sweet...)

Very tough for me to say for sure. I've been getting upgrades as well over the last few weeks. While I was still in Agi gear I cracked 10k DPS on one Ignis downing. Lot of RNG happiness there though.

Since though, we are doing hard mode, so only one heart phase makes things a bit more realistic. I normally easily clear 6k, and that is with almost always having to battle rez somebody and sometimes I have to run around trying to find them Smiley: mad Without any interruptions, I think 7k or just under is about right. If I can get hysteria it would be a little better, but with 3 geared feral druids I get it rarely, particularly seeing the DK giving it and the other druids have been raiding together for a long time :)

At least I have convinced the guild that the hysteria should be going on a feral druid (or tank if threat is an issue). I do notice that quite often I have Vigilance put on me though :)

I must admit, I rarely look at how much DPS I do on a fight. Normally I am comparing my DPS & damage done to the other ferals in the raid and other DPS to gauge my performance.

Looking at his sig, I'd say Spirestone is a pretty good guess :P

Ahh....must fix that. I transferred all my toons to an Oceanic server as my guild fell apart with 3.1 and it is too hard to find quality raiders who are willing to start raiding at 2am server time. Then there turned out to be an alliance scum with the name already reserved on the server (even though he is under level 10 and doesn't appear on armory). So there is now a Rarebëast on Jubei'Thos (hold down alt and type 137 on the numeric keypad to get the ë).

It was an expensive process transferring 10 toons :) But within a week I was participating in my guilds second ever Yogg kill, so it worked out very well for me :)
