Quick question on MacesFollow

#1 Jul 28 2009 at 1:32 AM Rating: Decent
Hey hey, i know we rogues typically want a slow main and fast off hand for a maces spec. But i can get the Mace from the argent tournament and my paladin can make the titansteel mace.

Would using 2 slow maces seriously gimp my performace? Throwing the idea around because of the ease of getting these 2 maces.

What does everyone think? Guess a qualifier is in order...our guild is a family guild and will do little or no instancing in the near future, and i'm primarily PVE.

All help and/or flames are appriciated.

Thank you, Moe

The weapons rogues choose for combat don't matter too much, generally spec around the best weapons available to you. Fists, swords, maces, daggers are all fine although I'd avoid having two daggers.
The reason you want a slow mainhand and a fast offhand is because a faster offhand generates deadly poison more efficiently. Other poisons wound, instant etc. are now based on a proc-per-minute mechanic and to get the most out of this having a slow mainhand helps. As well as the fact your special attacks will hit a lot harder with a slow mainhand (sinister strikes etc.).

Furthermore having a fast offhand increases your energy regeneration (see talent combat potency), something very important for a rogue.

In sort choosing two slow weapons instead of slow/fast will ultimately lead to a drop in energy regen, poison application and damage.
