For a PvP ret paladin (playing resto druid/ret in 2s and resto druid/warrior/ret in 3s) I'm wondering which Darkmoon card would be more beneficial. I'm leaning towards Greatness, but it might be not bad to have both.
Thanks!

Greatness and PVP Trinket, if your character is human then no need for the pvp trinet (except for res). The Mirror of Truth is probably better than the Death card as it pops 1k AP quite regularly.

Yeah, I'm human or I'd pick up the 2% crit pvp trinket.

What does 'probably better' mean?

It means is is likely better than Death. Meaning it could be, depending on your choice of having 1k AP 1/3rd of time or 1-2k dmg every 45 sec.

Go with Greatness, Death is a horrible comparison to it. It's like a spec based Epic vs a spec based Green in terms of utility.

Thanks for the more in-depth explanation.

It's hard to put a straight damage proc and an attack power proc on the same scale, because the DPS you get from additional AP will vary by the specifics of your gear at the time.

That said, the proc of DMC:D is only 40-50 DPS. Some quick and dirty math says that's not enough to match the Mirror. Twice that might do.

For the trinkets my guild has access to at the moment, DMC:G > Fury of the Five Flights > Pyrite Infuser > Mirror of Truth > Loatheb's Shadow. DMC:D is below Mirror somewhere, so there's no reason to go for it - it's not a high-priority equip, and Mirror is easily available.

I said probably because I do not know what your characters stats and gear are like, 1k ap 1/3 uptime in good gear is worth more than 2k every 45 secs damage.

For pvp, my personal choice of 2 trinks would be Greatness and Lotheb's shadow

  • as it allows an on demand AP increase (670) so gives you a bit more control for when you want to maximise burst. But you need to a) get it to drop and b) win the roll.

Yup. Going off my rogue's recount, Darkmoon Death's proc is maybe an increase in 4% of your dps. Nowhere near gamebreakng in pvp. Fury of the Five Flights is more of a pve trinket and wouldn't serve a great deal of burst when you consider how long it takes to wind up to its max 300 and something attack power.

Greatness if you can afford it otherwise hope Bandit's Insignia drops while saving for the Mirror of Truth.
