To dual spec, or not to dual spec?Follow

Hey, I have a level 26 druid on the Recruit a Friend program, and I have enough gold for dual spec.
Would it be best to go balance/resto dual spec or just go feral and save 1000g? I don't need to level 1-60 much, so I'm mainly concerned with 60-80. How is leveling as balance in that area, is it fun? Would Feral be more fun/faster?

Thanks much,
Oromo

I got dual spec around 49 and I'm really glad I did. Being able to go resto for instances while remaining feral for my actual questing has earned me a ton of group invites that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. On the other hand, if you aren't much for doing instances, or even for healing, then you probably won't need it as much, because a generic feral spec is good enough to DPS/tank anything in leveling content.

As for your other question, moonkin is indeed fun to blow things up, but feral is and probably always will be the champion spec to level in.

I didn't figure anyone would be up at this time, it's 1:15 for me
But about feral/resto, I have been highly considering this lately.. how hard is it to maintain two sets of gear that will allow me to function well? Feral does look more like a leveling spec than Balance, so I'd prefer it if gearing isn't too hard.

If you like the balance pay-style, you'll level fast enough. If you go feral for leveling and don't really like the play-style, it may level faster, but it'll be feeling longer. Plus as Balance you can still heal well, just you won't be in a position to tank dungeons.

I got dual spec while I was 80, so I don't really know how it'll affect your leveling. I leveled to mid 60's as a kitty pretty fast. I'm not a fan of melee fighting, so I respecced Boomkin and LOVED it. Being able to root mobs to take less damage and nuke the **** out of em and plus with hurricane and starfall(talent learned spell) AOE grinding helping me level faster IMO. I dual specced boomkin/resto and It helped so much more getting into dungeons because usually DPS are a dime a dozen. Plus from 60-80 you can use the same gear for both until 80. Plus more dungeons means better gear to help with leveling. It worked for me.

As long as you aren't trying to do instances you barely qualify for, then it's not hard at all. The hardest part will be building up your set initially, but that's as easy as going for healer quest rewards and keeping some random drops. Most of your balance gear will probably work just fine for a resto set starting out. The thing about building up a second set is that occasionally you have to pass over minor upgrades for one set in favor of a much larger upgrade to the other. Neither set of gear is going to be absolutely fabulous, but they'll both serve you very well as far as leveling up goes.
