Just wondering if there is a Haste Cap for raiding mages... and if it the same for both Arcane and Frostfire mages?

I couldn't see any mention of this on the GME page.

yes, but I don't think it is possible to be reached unless you are consistently breaking the 1sec GCD (not including bloodlust/cooldowns).

Does this mean that effects such as Bloodlust/heroism and Troll's Beserking are not optimal for mages since they would actually give you too much haste for that period of time?

edit: I mean, the effects of Bloodlust or beserking would begin to diminish once you reach a certain level of geared haste.

edit #2: how much haste do you need before you start getting held back by the GCD? I have a feeling I'm asking a really dumb question but I'm trying to get my head around it, sorry.

The reason I ask is becasue a Mage on my server told me that Troll's Berserking is useless for raiding mages since it takes them past the haste cap.... I'm not sure if he was on the right track or just wrong.

You would need such a ridiculous amount that all your other stats would be so pitiful you'd be lucky to break 10th place in DPS. You'd have no SP, no Crit, and no Hit.

The haste cap, where the GCD reaches 1 sec takes roughly 1640 haste rating, something no level of gear would be able to give. Even beyond this though haste has uses since you can push your slowest attack speed spell, frostfire bolt down to 1 second, even more impossible.

Given this berserking still is useful even during a bloodlust in most situations, however even if you do have high levels of haste making it not worth casting then you could simply use it outside of BL.

There is however 1 exception General Vezax gives you a 100% haste and as such berserking would be useless in this particular fight but that is simply one very rare exception.

Yeah I understood that aiming to gear for haste was a bad idea because it affects your other stats, I just wasn't sure if there was a haste "brick wall" that you smacked into at some point.
ie. for moonkins, I've read there is a (sort-of) cap at 550 haste...

I was just wondering if mages had a similar deal.

But I've got my answer (No!) so thanks guys! :)
